  1. I had X2 200, 46 and 66 all ported by spud and had the chance to meet him in person and can highly recommend him. All four saws are brilliant and there is a real difference in performance. For the work that Steve puts into the saws it's great value for money. You can also post them to him if you're not near.
  2. Big thanks to Steve for helping me out on this and for all the hard work with the other saws. All work really well now and good to be back using a 200 rather then 201.
  3. All climbing gear wears out over time but at least all parts can be renewed on the spiderjack. Reminds me of triggers broom on only fools and horses ?
  4. I sold my 2.1 to buy the 3 and really happy with the change. As upgrades go it's worth the extra money.
  5. I'm using Teufelberger drenaLINE Rope at 60m but have not tried it on anything else. Works well and I around 11 1/2 stone.
  6. Are the templates on the as website still free to use or do you now have to pay from them. Thanks
  7. I use the ZZ a lot and is a great bit of gear but when you get the VT right a HC I feel is just as good as a ZZ. Saying that the ZigZag works the same every day what ever the conditioned. I would go with getting the ZZ as a replacement if you want to try something new, but if you're someone that feels more comfortable climbing on a hitch then go for the HC. There is also meant to be a new HC pulley being released soon that looks a good upgrade.
  8. I got one about 6 months ago and great but of kit. Don't forget you will have to pay tax at this end when it gets shipped. I also had to by a new Zig Zag to use with it as the old one had worn to much and slipped on the rope that I use for SRT.
  9. Have you seen the new one by Notch. Tree stuff are taking pre orders but I'm sure it will be released soon here. Has a part that guides the rope into the ascender from the top and works with two cams.
  10. The client was talking about taking down the tree in the next few years due to subsidence in the house. Structural engineer has recommended that it be taken down in stages as not to change the water table and cause further complications to the building. Has anyone find this to be true?
  11. Ever four years. Had a full load of wood chip from the job which took me by surprise. It's definitely is a two climber tree. It would take less then half the time.
  12. I have done this tree 4 times over the years. First time stayed up the tree and finish by lunch. This time had two breaks and took till 2.30pm. No matter how you keep in shape you do start to slow with age. Next time I'm doing it with another climber.
  13. I will try the oil and if I don't have any luck will look at changing the cable. Thanks for the help.
  14. Thanks. Will try that first. Would you recommend any brand of oil.
  15. Can anyone help. The cable seems to be sticking on full and not returning when I let go of the throttle. I have taken apart and looked inside the handle and also the carb and all springs seem to be working. The cable does not want to return on its own and I can only push it back from the carb end. Do I need to replace the whole cable or is there something I have missed? Thanks in advance.
  16. Can you let me know if you have any luck. Like to get some new tree climbing trousers. Thanks
  17. https://www.honeybros.com/Category/Arborwear This is a link for the last of their stock.
  18. I'm sure that Arbor wear UK have stop importing and are just selling the last of the stock that they have. If you go to the honey brothers website there is a link at the bottom left that is the last of the stock they have. There is some Arbor wear gear on Amazon.
  19. Has anyone brought or used one. Just after reviews as looking at an alternative to the Alpine Magnum grinder. Thanks
  20. On a different note does anyone grease their cordless long arm trimmers. Can't find anything from Stihl saying that you should. Thanks
  21. I have used the 160 in very heavy rain for a whole morning before we pack up because it was too wet without any problems. Is it recommend not to use the cordless gear in wet weather. Thanks
  22. Set up a separate bank account. All money that you earn will be payed into this account giving you your turnover. Anything that you buy which can be an expense, use the bank card for this account so you have a record of outgoings, also keep receipts. The bank statements can then be used by an accountant to do your return, remember that you can also put down any cost of training you have done. Most importantly set up a savings account which you put 20% of your turnover in weekly as a standing order to have the money to pay your tax bill. Remember that money is never yours, you are just holding on to it for the tax man.
