  1. I would say that could do with a trim at the very least. Could you take another picture looking inside the canopy? So we can see if it’s been worked on before.
  2. Happy about my age Les, 60 in December.
  3. Well, if Elizabeth Pargetter is not talking about it on The Archers it’s not being reported on according to some.
  4. It’s an abbreviation of Phillip. He is sometimes called that.
  5. Phillip Schofield has left This Morning. A rift with Holly, apparently there’s some NDAs (non disclosure agreements) in jeopardy that his ‘boyfriend’ signed (gossip on Twitter btw) His brother convicted the other day, could Pip be disgraced, or even worse?
  6. “There’s nothing about it on the news!” Gets shown it’s all over the news (The BBC in fact, on the website and on the telly) ”I don’t watch the news” Comedy gold.
  7. The hydraulics will rob it of what little power it has.
  8. It has its own ticker on the top line. Two top stories. Zelensky arrives at G7. Yanks going to let their F16s be used by the Ukrainians. ”remarkable lack of coverage”
  9. When they do it without being challenged there’s always an element of “Ha! I parked it now, nothing you can do”
  10. I have noticed a definite drop in enquiries, I’m not in your situation employee wise (only one). I have been in business a good while and experienced a good few ups and downs. In 2008/9 I made a few mistakes that took a few years to overcome (buying stuff that turned out to be useless) I think it was boredom tbh. My only take from it all is don’t panic yourself into rash decisions, selling stuff or buying it or whatever. Sometimes not making a decision is the best decision you can take.
  11. Then maybe ask for the serial number, if he refuses, duck him in the village pond.
  12. The high stump thing always makes me laugh. Client ”Could you make a chair out of it?” Me: “Absolutely not” Client ”ok leave it high, we’ll make a feature out of it” Me: “no problem, but I guarantee you sooner or later you’ll regret it and want it cut lower” After the job is finished the wife comes out, looks at the metre high stump “cut it as low as you can” “No problem”
  13. The most obvious thing to do is go back through your old tree surgery clients. Phone them up and ask why they’re not using you anymore.
  14. That’s a pretty bold claim Mark. Accusing the bloke of theft I mean. How can you be sure?
  15. Well that makes sense to me (more and more tree surgeons owning their own grinders) especially with the better pedestrian ones being very effective these days. Turns a £750 job into a £1000 job for just an hour or so at the end of the day. For the really big grinding jobs, you get in someone with a monster grinder.
  16. I understand why you feel perturbed. Your pride and joy, something you’ve gone in debt for, that heralds a new start, let you down on its big opening night. Hopefully just a hiccup.
  17. If it’s hydraulic oil (most likely) it’s likely a poorly done up pipe that QC failed to pick up. Not the end of the world. What model Först is it?
  18. There’s never been a better time for a young man to travel the world as a tree worker, but don’t hang about! Who knows what’s round the corner?
  19. I knew Lucy from the early in my career. As you say always cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable. I learnt of her passing from a friend in the industry late last year. Very sad, still young. RIP.
  20. Ornamental cherry, prolly.
