Mornin’ Stubs et al. Dusting of snow here, some decent oaks to dismantle, part of a three day job. Yesterday the throttle cable on the 230 froze, luckily the other contractor had a TW165 on the job, a bit more more shedding and preparing, but an impressive little machine, saved the day for us.

Thing is Les, recent events in Venezuela have dispelled any lingering doubts about any moral superiority of the US compared to the Ruskies. They are just much better at taking over countries.

I guess we are entering a new age. This latest act will cement his authority at home. The US (under DJT) is no longer a reliable ally, and is rapidly becoming a existential threat to many other countries previously thought safe. How long before he walks into Greenland? Who is going to stop him?

Trump says that the US will run Venezuela and American oil companies will run the oil business. 36 hours to take a country and not a single American soldier killed. If it was a film you’d say it was too far fetched. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands Russian soldiers dead and cities reduced to rubble in a war in stalemate. An extraordinary day in history.

iirc, and I’m happy to be wrong. For many TOs 3 years is too short a timeframe for a re-reduction of a tree. You’d have to provide a convincing argument for a removal, not just that you’ll plant another. Charge her a hundred quid or so for your time and say you’ll knock it off if she hires you to do the work You will have no responsibility and they won’t chase you if someone else butchers it.

Extraordinary really, it really has to be enforced regime change, which is surprising when you considered his previous stance on meddling in ‘shithole’ countries. You have to really have to had swallowed the blue pill if you believe it’s about drugs or fair elections. Credit to the yanks though, getting in there quickly and kidnapping Maduro really shows the Russians how to achieve a fait accompli.
