  1. To meet their fate here, first day on the st8, very impressed with it, great capacity and terrific crushing. 2 full loads of chip and 2 more of cord.
  2. Unthinkable without the tractor, put a chain on the branches and up they come.
  3. Large failed leylandii, everything had to come up a steep slope.
  4. Hi siewart, best of luck, as others have said contact the college for a list of local places. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the course, I did it 20 years ago and the lad who works for me would like to do it. Tips... Have all your safety gear bought beforehand, keep you folder tidy and organised. Enjoy it!
  5. I've had a v1505 in my tw for 13 years, never given me a moments bother, I change the oil regularly. Why muck around with additives?
  6. No I don't do ground work, except at my place. I'm not good enough on it and 1.5 tonnes isn't really big enough. I don't think there's the sort of money in it that you can get from trees. Anyway it's boring!
  7. Reminds me how much I hated that Land Rover!
  8. They're great at loading if the truck is right next to the cord, and in a tight situation. Too slow for "forwarding" plus a lot of lawn damage. Here's my Takeuchi.
  9. Peter, is your loader invisible?
  10. Interesting josharb, thanks.
  11. Shame, but it's good they're making their own way.
  12. After seeing that vid all I can say is.....Shut up and take my money!
  13. Same designs as the rayco 1625, I lost count of the times mine went over. Main thing is turn it off asap and once it's righted give it a few minutes for the oil to settle. Sure you knew that anyway.
  14. 6'8"!! It's a tribute to the food he gets at home anyway. Does he work with you?
  15. Diesel and Two Stroke only have eyes for your sandwich. Today has been busy, pricing etc, saw the first swallow of the year, then got on with some prepping of the veggie patches.
  16. 1550 kg weight, lift 1400kg I think. Small enough to tow on a trailer behind most pick ups.
  17. [ame] [/ame] Here's a promo vid of the Giant, looks like a great machine.
  18. Oh I don't mind the money side of it so much Bob. It's just we were really going to kick ass today, we're back Monday to do it, that'll cheer me up!
  19. Maybees, but most domestic clients want it gone, chips, logs, sawdust the lot, and you as well by the end of the day.
  20. No the Ranger is the new vehicle. The Transit is newish, 2008 AND 50000 miles ive had it a couple of years now, just one of those things. The tipping trailer is not yet boarded out for chip.
  21. Had a good day planned, beautiful weather, first outing with the new chipper, large leylandii at the bottom of a steep sloping garden. Use the tractor to drag or carry the stuff up the slope to the waiting chipper. Maybe 2 loads of chip one of logs, priced well, it would have been a great end to a good week financially. Bang, starter motor on tranny gives up, no way round it, we towed it to the garage for replacement and repair, did some bits and bobs at the yard, then sent the lads home. Sulked on the sofa for a bit unable to find the motivation to do anything positive. Only one thing for it.....a drink.
