  1. No, I'd remove the branch or the tree, I wouldn't install anything OVER a high value target. I've not done any cabling or cobra work since I came here a decade ago.
  2. If your house has burnt down I don't think you'd give a monkey's toss about a branch falling on it. Of all the things you have against this stuff Jomo, some of which are at least thoughtworthy, the fire scenario is the lamest.
  3. About 2ft up. Solid tree really, client wanted it out so we did it. It's a Dutch holiday village with "cabins" built in the woods on separate plots. You take a tree out for one guy, the neighbour watches you, strolls up and wants a price on his, I've had a lot of work there.
  4. Not far from the truth. I cannot imagine hand balling the wood on this sort of job these days.
  5. Co dominant oak to remove, lots of purple but did not hit anything nasty amazingly. Ground it out and removed the grindings. Standard stuff.
  6. I believe we are the worlds most invadingist country ever.
  7. This was a 2 or 3 year dead deodar, we did a while back. I wouldn't have wanted to rig too big off it mind.
  8. Spike it, strip it, top it, chog it. Swamp cypress maybe. Reg C. Did an interesting vid about dead trees a while back, something along the lines of spiking slowly so as not to create a wobble that could flip a rotten top off.
  9. Funny coincidence, I looked at mine today, sat in the greenhouse, I was seduced by the tv ad, so I got one, they are good but I'm a bit too lazy.
  10. People who want a solid hedge straight away always make me laugh. My vote is for laurel, I put it around my garden, took 3 years to get it like this though.
  11. Have you tried a husqvarna dealer? I would have thought they're readily available for just a few quid.
  12. Anyway it was a pretty decent fir stump. It's all about getting rid of the grindings, half a transit full.
  13. Just to keep the scoreboard ticking over.....
  14. Friday afternoon is never a good time to run out of anything, unless it's out of work straight to the pub. I miss pubs btw.
  15. Nooooooooooooooooooooo! Don't join the wildlings on the other side of the wall. Led by Mance Rayder AKA Shavey. You're a fool Jon Snow!
  16. That last paragraph, some insightful stuff there Joe:biggrin:
  17. I sort of misunderstood the title, I was going to offer my services, but Colchester is too far.
  18. Hi Domino, your avatar, that's La Rochefocauld isn't it?
  19. What does your daily work involve Pete?
