    Yes very good. I may have used the fork we see to the end as the rigging anchor point, moves you a couple of feet further away from the wire. But that’s armchair quarterback stuff.

    Pretty sure it’s a cherry. Someone should be able to clear that away for £150 or £200 easy.

    1: Dunno, best send some photos and an explanation recorded delivery to your tree officer, to cover your arse. 2: If (and I doubt you have to replace a naturally fallen tree) it certainly won’t need to be the same size, don’t worry about that. 3:You have to remove it yourself/pay some to do it.

    Seems like it’s done and dusted. Just watched a very good précis by BBC reporter Frank Gardner about how the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel started a series of events that led to this.

    Oh I don’t deny that big powers meddle in other’s affairs, but the laws of unintended consequences mean no one can control what happens.

    TBH I doubt that. To quote someone or other.. If you think there’s some sinister hidden force controlling world events, there isn’t, it’s more frightening than that, nobody has a clue what’s happening or what’s happening next.

    Wet and windy here, though not to the same extent of course. Nothing much on, shopping, then one job to look at in the arvo. Looks like a lot of footy on the telly will be watched this weekend. Edit, the Scouse derby is called off, so that’s one down.

    The regime in Syria looks likely to fall soon. Anyone know (or even have an educated guess) what this might bring into the region?

    It’s just life, one damn thing after another. Compared to other stuff it’s easy. Enjoy it, from start to finish, most days are great, genuinely.

    When you started this thread I was all ‘pull yourself together!’ However my left knee is bloody murder at the moment, so I’m a bit less bullish about it. Find yourself a good chiropractor, it’ll change your life.

    Agreed. I had my ‘98 from 2001 to 2016, a million quid easy in that time, plus it moved us to France, doing countless trips to Blighty and back and all over south west France working for Brits in the first few years after coming here. My late dad gave me a lift to pick it up after its tipper body was fitted, I could tell how proud he was that his (up to that point) hopeless son finally seemed to be sorting himself out. This photo was taken the day it was taken away. Excuse the nostalgia.
