  1. I hope Chris the blind guy wins.
  2. Very sad, chickens are such tragic creatures.
  3. Agreed, the saw thing does work, it’s a bit dodgy to look at, and you wouldn’t want to do it without your PPE on.
  4. No it’s not a given, and it bears repeating. Like almost everything in history. The Russians believe that they ‘won’ the Winter War.
  5. I used to walk naked backwards into a bramble patch, open my buttocks, close them over a few stems of bramble, clench tightly, then run out as fast as I could. Worked great, till the spoilsports taking their grandchildren blackberry picking called the police.
  6. I used to deliver stuff as a younger working man, new cars for a while (till I smashed too many up) and other stuff, I enjoyed it, albeit having the disquieting feeling that for a man in his 20s it wasn’t meaningful work or going anywhere career wise. But just seeing the countryside, listening to the radio suited my lazy yet easily bored nature just fine Few years of that before I quit the working life might be an idea.
  7. My point was that in Russia the outcome is viewed from a very different perspective.
  8. Not going to watch it for an hour, but is he talking about the winter war of 39/40? You know that Finland ceded nearly 10% of its territory?
  9. Forgot to mention. Yesterday we were working with/for a gardener (originally from New Zealand) at one of the properties he maintains. The lad (English but raised from a very early age in France, so unaware of English vernacular) and me are chatting await on the coms me up the tree, him running the ropes. The lad: ’He’s a nice bloke isn’t he? He still has a very strong Australian accent’ Me: ’Yes but he’s not Australian, he’s a Kiwi’ 20 seconds pause.. The lad: ’Is Kiwi an island then?’
  10. Wordle 1,274 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟩⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  11. I see Pompey got a stuffing last night @Stubby, always next week. Shopping this morning, pricing this afternoon, football and Strictly on the telly. Living the dream.
  12. Loppers? Sweet baby Jesus!
  13. In my experience, bring all chummy with the TO is a waste of time. Keep it strictly business.
  14. Fantastic start to the day, held up by a family of boar on the road, wonderful to see. Then, issues with the Schliesing oil pressure sensor keeps turning it off. Fingers crossed the motor isn’t fubarred.
  15. Wordle 1,272 X/6 ⬜⬜🟩🟩⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 Get stuffed!
  16. Lovely clear starry skies when I walked the dog this morning, no frost though, perfect tree work weather. Got a garden clearance today, 5 birch and pine to take out, going to let the big Schliesing stretch it’s legs to give us a bit of a hand.
  17. Bugger! How did they load them?
  18. They rarely miss an opportunity (the Israelis)
  19. Thought you’d like that!
  20. On The subject of not being entirely happy with the safety of something..rope bridges give me the ick, so I put another one on.
  21. Yes very good. I may have used the fork we see to the end as the rigging anchor point, moves you a couple of feet further away from the wire. But that’s armchair quarterback stuff.
  22. Wordle 1,269 4/6 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Going a bit more conservative (boring) on my first words. Seems to help.
  23. Stiffer than a wankers underpants?
