  1. Plus it’s 4wd which would help. (The rayco posted a post back) Seems to have been retro fitted with Vermeer teeth.
  2. I got tucked up for a couple of hundred quid, 20 years back by some outfit saying they published a magazine for coppers. Initially said yes, then got an invoice a couple of days later, I phoned saying I’d changed my mind and he said they’d taped my call which was valid as a contract, it was a police publication with the full legal authority etc... Sent the chèque off. I learnt it then, you learnt it now.
  3. A dead tree by the looks of it.
  4. 2 cubic meters, maybe 2.5, pointless. Better off with a hicap, some greedy boards and a potato fork.
  5. You don’t have to stay as a climber, there are many avenues to explore in the industry. Why didn’t your old man move into another aspect of the job?
  6. 4 years doing something you don’t want to do is a long time.
  7. Wheeled, it takes some shenanigans to get it some places, but once you know the tricks it’ll usually get there.
  8. One guy on here had no end of bother with the 28 hp predator, shook itself to bits. I’ve had two raycos, the 25 hp one, which is very similar to the vermeer, and now the 35 hp petrol one which is great, reliable and willing. I would go yankee if possible, seem better built.
  9. Yes I have heard them in Sussex and out here, it’s quite something. Although now you mention it, not here for a year or two.
  10. I don’t think TW still sell 150s do they? We’re talking second hand where the market dictates the price.
  11. It’s all a bit weird @kevinjohnsonmbe over here the large DIY supermarket stores (Bati Leclerc) are rammed Monday to Saturday, dawn till dusk with peeps getting house improvement stuff, just because they sell animal food. But the smaller independent DIY stores are shut, by order of the gubmint. Tough pill to swallow for the little guy.
  12. I don’t get what you mean, “prices are high so they can get a 230”
  13. It’s amazing what those old 150s are still fetching. If they were a couple of grand, fair enough. Thought of lease/buying a new one?
  14. One day, in the next few years you will get to use a 230, within minutes you will feel a lump in your chest, your body will start to shake uncontrollably and tears will start pouring down your face, soon your legs will collapse beneath you and a friend will try to uncoil you from the fœtal position you have taken, he’ll ask you what’s up, between the deep breaths and sobs he will finally understand what seemed unintelligible at first, but after the 50th time he’ll understand what you’re saying “I made a terrible mistake, and I can never get back those years!” Is that what you want? Cos that’s what’ll happen! Seriously though, I understand your rationale, I’m just bored.
  15. If you had you would realise you made the wrong decision.
  16. If you can afford it get the 230. I had a 150 for years, good reliable workhorse, in its day it was a game changer. Used my mates 230 and was astonished at what an improvement it was.
  17. Terrible year so far, seen a few about, but none staying here in the hamlet. Really sad.
  18. https://t.co/YYt0TDqrDo?amp=1 This is quite funny and only 20 seconds long.
  19. @wicklamulla Spend money? Who dear? Me dear? No dear! Strange story about the 2511, I remember @geoff on here posting a vid of a tuned one and I was quite impressed but moved on. Then August Hunicke posted a vid where he took the saw (2511) to a tuner who explained what and why he was doing, then videoed a before and after with cutting times. I watched that and thought “that’s a really usable saw” so I got one, and I noticed them appearing in more videos. I guess that makes him an influencer!
