  1. This is a long shot, but if you don’t ask you don’t get.. I am first dibs to buy a used hydraulic winch for my Avant. Now I have a mate coming over on the ferry Friday morning for a visit next weekend, he’s happy to bring it over but I have to get it to Barns Green by Thursday afternoon. Its with a guy in Rugby Warwickshire about à 5 hour round trip. Courrier/transport companies présent issues because of unloading and timings. I thought maybe someone (either near the winch in Warwickshire, or near my mate in Billingshurst) with a pick up or van has a day free early next week for a jolly. I reckon £250 should cover it. Hit me up as the kids say.
  2. I notice more and more rough sleepers every time I come back.
  3. Wordle 1,064 3/6 ⬜🟩🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Recovered my mojo. Lucky first line admittedly. @Doug Tait that second line is a crime almost worthy of the walk of shame!
  4. Surveying is just walking along a railway embankment avoiding stepping on dirty nappies looking at sycamores. Tree officers must have committed some horrible crime in an earlier life to have to deal with that paperwork and listen to the entitled moaning lying public all day. Consultancy is just spending ages writing up reports and speculation on various scenarios about something that may or may not happen, clients will ignore you anyway.

  6. AHPP is very ambiguous about the whole robot thing since Skynet sent a robot back in time to kill his mother. Then 11 years later they sent another better one back in time to kill him, ironically the first robot gets sent back as well by future humans to protect him. All this happened in LA (where you live) So, you know, he’s a bit…touchy.
  7. Wordle 1,062 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟨🟨 🟨🟨⬜🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I thought my third line was better than the actual answer, but ok.
  8. No Mark! Read the thread! YARN | Stop saying that, Withnail! Of course he's the ****************ing farmer! | Withnail & I (1987) | Video clips by quotes | bf51d55b | 紗 GETYARN.IO Withnail & I (1987) clip with quote Stop saying that, Withnail! Of...
  9. My brother recently came down from Yorkshire to the home counties to buy a Mercedes estate, his last decent car, not cheap, second hand. Anyway, auto gearbox failed on way home, had to get it towed to nearest garage etc. The selling garage just gave him his money back, so he went and bought another, which is fine. The moral? I dunno, maybe choose where you buy carefully, check warranties. Glad it worked out Pete.
  10. Wordle 1,061 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟨🟩⬜ ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Hell of a first couple of lines, just glad to get it after yesterday.
  11. It’s near Crawley. I recognized the street name, No Ball Games.
  12. I guess the obvious thing to do is get another quote. Seems to me you could set a crane up in the space shown and do it all in a day, with the right firm.
  13. Wordle 1,060 X/6 🟨⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟨🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩⬜🟩 ⬜⬜🟩⬜🟩 ⬜⬜🟩⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 shame!
  14. I’m on the 6th line, I’m going to fail this one!
  15. I suppose it depends on what you explorations into the plaster reveals.
  16. Well then I dunno. I doubt it, but it depends.
  17. Depends, builders have materials, wages on a job that might take weeks/months to complete. By and large we just have to make sure the chippers/trucks and combi cans are full
  18. Generally, people pay. The figures we charge for domestic work are not worth not paying if you know what I mean. If you’re getting an extension done for 20 or more thousand, people can get funny. I’ve been genuinely stiffed just once in 30 odd years.
  19. Wordle 1,059 3/6 🟩⬜🟨🟨⬜ 🟩⬜🟨🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 nice.
  20. It’s a poplar. Doesn’t look too bad. Wait and see.
  21. [email protected] Send an email (change capitals to lower case)
  22. No reported issues. Got your password right?
  23. The ‘palm tree’ is a trachycarpus, unlikely to be causing an issue. Cherries do have long roots that sit just under the surface, often causing problems for mower blades. I think I can see one going towards your house in the photo.
  24. Not an unreasonable question.
  25. Prolly, and with a round anvil as well. Lift the cover and take a pic for us.
