    We are multiplying like an out of control virus on the planet, over 7 billion, more than double the number than when I was born in 1963. Deforestation, burning oil and coal etc. Nothing to do with us though. All a conspiracy to tax us more etc.

    The very last thing you want to do is persuade the client to get a glorified spoon whittler in their garden, making noise and mess over a couple of days, creating planks they’ll never use whilst boring the tits off YOUR client going on about graining and spalting and showing them pictures of their kids.

    What use is a climbing inspection? It’s clear it’s an included union thingy that has failed. You don’t need to climb up there to see that. The tree is toast, out it comes.

    My only incident was a 272 that I was using to step cut a big horizontal oak limb. Anyway, saw got stuck and went with the branch, eventually (well, a split second later) the saw freed itself and the limb went. Bar was bent beyond repair, very sore hip but otherwise ok.

    Isn’t that what proper saw strops do? Breakaway I mean. I use old climbing rope but I thought that was the case with the pukka ones.

    So put the chain brake on, or cinch the krab on itself so it won’t budge. Put some anti leopard spray on your harness in case of attack, it never ends.
