  1. Is replacing a crank seal a guaranteed fix? I’m addressing the saw pro guys btw. Does a compromised crank seal not point to other issues? Can it running lean (if that’s what happens) not create issues with rings and overheating? Genuine question.
  2. Did you take the whole tree out, or just topping it?
  3. Mornin’ all. Dampish here, going shopping then a couple of jobs to look at, been a good week, and a good month as it goes. Slow start to the year, picked up as the year went on, now rattling along well.

  5. Why not have the competition on here? Then we can all enjoy them.
  6. The demise of pubs since I left the UK 20 years ago is tragic. Are the two things linked? we cannot rule it out.
  7. What’s the long term goal of this?
  8. Close enough!
  9. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (as he will now be known) is getting his final punishment from the family. Difficult to feel sorry for him, that Emily Matliss interview really showed what he was all about.
  10. It has its drawbacks, but the ‘modern stuff is rubbish’ crowd are just wanky old moaners. Drive a 25 year old pick up truck, and compare it to the modern ones. Gutless crap in comparison.
  11. Yes, we will have to rethink out strapping down.
  12. New Ifor GF106 to pull the Avant. Tidy!
  13. That is true, and it is annoying.
  14. Calm down Chicken Little. They’re easy enough to turn off.
  15. Hornets nest in it. mission abandoned.
  16. My new Ranger has that, it’s actually very good.
  17. Fb marketplace is full of dreamers, good for little local stuff though.
  18. Got an hours drive to dismantle that stone dead oak that I put off a week or so back, no clear up, so if it goes well then back on the sofa for Neighbours (lunchtime edition)
  19. Ok, I had three 200s, good saws, but not worthy of the reverence they receive. The first 201s were gutless rubbish, Brad Schnellinger (a US saw guru) fixed them with an upgrade to the timing or something, Stihl copied his upgrade and sold it as their own idea. Then started selling them already “fixed” My 201s lasted much longer than the 200s ime, but opinions vary.

  21. Did she peg you as well then? 26 mile round trip isn’t so bad, if you’ve a decent bike. Apart from the rainy days you might even enjoy it.
  22. Top handles seem to have split into two categories. Take down saws. ie 201, 540 petrol, 542 battery etc. Trim saws, Stihl 151, Echo 2511. What are you after?
  23. Mornin’ Stubs et al. Clearish and cool, squeezing two 3/4 days into a day with the help of another pair of hands. Both in the same village. Rain coming in lunchtime, so it’s against the clock today!
  24. Always tomorrow Doug.
