  1. You can change that to 'tree falling' ;-)
  2. Nice to see this tree saved. But it is mental that it took such a community to have to pull together to spare this beauty, when it is blatantly obvious that they could have avoided the tree by a huge distance either side. Still don't expect the contractors to look at the tree as anything more than a nuisance. Nice work people
  3. Doubt he has the time working all the hours God sends ;-).
  4. I think it was mentioned that it was more of a venting thread. (not like the good olde days as they say)
  5. Would be nice to see some from Mr Humphries. I'm planning on making more of an effort to take pictures of these trees when i pass them.
  6. Just another quick point to add to this thread. I found it easier to push myself when i was in a situation where i had to climb. i.e. working for someone else where there were no other climbers, i would be the only one who could get the job done so it was on my shoulders as it were. I think you know if a tree is really unsafe and if thats the case you just say no.
  7. yeah i bet. I have always found trees like this remarcable ones that don't have any great height but must have a long history and even though they have been beaten down they still show signs of life.
  8. thats interesting, is it a big defference? I am looking at the moment for a 530 or 540 at the right price but am willing to wait for the right one to pop up. I figure if I'm spending 10-12k on a machine i want it to be the right one that I'm happy with as its got to keep me going a few years. So if anyone reads this and is thinking of selling or can point me in the direction of some up for/going up for sale that would be great. Don't want to waste anyones time but I'm going to be a little picky as I'm sure you'll all understand.
  9. I'd say it's likely they would want to know the clearance distance from the building. As Joe said.
  10. Thought I'd pop this small but great vet oak in here. I drive past it a fair bit it's on a golf course and I've been meaning to get pics. This thread prompted that.
  11. Oh right lactose of course, sorry that was a bit of a dippy moment
  12. I'll take the advice on board mate. I cut down hugely and cut out smoking in certain situations, seem to be keeping to it and it's been 6 months.
  13. You learn something new everyday. I am assuming this is only linked to cows/goats milk? Not almond or coconut etc?
  14. Haha, sound like doctors orders to me mate
  15. Haha, I smoke myself and do enjoy it but am cutting down with the plan to quit for obvious reasons. But there are people who hate smoking because they have don't it for so long that it's not even a joy anymore
  16. Yeah it was that add, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Yeah I wanted a fold up for storage reasons and I just feel a little safer I guess having that extra distance between me and the rollers. Think they look a bit cooler too 😊
  17. That's will be an interesting read, I scanned through it but will take time to read it a bit more shortly. I was aware of this but then I was aware red meats and many other foods/drinks increase the risk of cancer, my view on it all is I am not going to stop eating and drinking the things I like just because of a sight increased risk of cancer. I could give up everything and still get cancer and I would have spent years avoiding the little pleasures in life to find out the worst has happened anyway. Not saying eat nothing but junk, just do things in moderation, I have a pretty valences diet at it goes. With regards to the milk, I'm willing to try it out just to see if there is any kind of truth in it. I'm not having a go, just putting my views across. Plenty of People smoke 40 a day and increase there risk of lung cancer and they don't even enjoy it.
  18. Well I can always force feed work mates milk and run extensive tests but I think that may be pushing it a little far
  19. It tends to be pretty similar work loads day in day out for me (flat out form 7-6). I'll even write to jobs and finishing times in if you like. Worth doing a test. I'll start next Monday with no milk.
  20. This is true, I'll keep a sceptical mind with it all
  21. Interesting, I must admit I can quite happily down a pint of milk after a day's work (find it really refreshing). I will go a week without any after work and then one week necking a pint after a day and see if I notice any different. Will keep you posted.
  22. Been looking for a second hand Jenny 530 road tow chipper and have come across a couple but one of them has 2 pics on the add, and one of the pics has a pull down hopper and the other doesn't. Ideally I want one with a pull down hopper as its what I'm used to and like but was just wondering why some do and some don't? Was it a specific set of years where Jensen decided not to put them on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks people.
  23. I was also looking for chippers with them, never thought to ask on here for feedback though. Just out of curiosity John have you brought a chipper from them? Did you have any issues? If so what were they like if a problem did occur? Thanks
