  1. It should be. Just hoping my local dealer can do it as I bought it 60miles away from here.
  2. I'll have a look tomorrow. It's only about 6 months old so hoping for no broken parts already.
  3. Thinking something older may run better than the new saws. Otherwise it's an echo or dollar I guess?
  4. Based just outside of Ashford Have 30/31 Full Ppe 3 ground saws Pick up Been cutting forestry/coppice for past year and a half and also done ground work for others. Some basic knowledge of rigging Got my 38/39 booked for the end of the month so will pass that hopefully. Happy to travel in Kent and East Sussex.
  5. So with the 550 needing a remap at the dealers the 560 is now not oiling and preening chains. 😒 Cleaned bar groove and hole, put some fuel into the oil tank to clean filter and tried bio and normal oil. Just burnt an 18 and 15" chain straight out the box 😔 Now down to the 372 beast but hey it doesn't have auto tune and is running right. What is an older husky without auto tune like? I'm guessing 346xp is similar?
  6. Has anybody downloaded it fully? Trying to find a way to get it downloaded so I can keep watching it.
  7. £150 a day would be like winning the lottery for me. I have had an ongoing thing trying to get work with Tilhill since September, I had to have extra insurance and fisa membership and no work. Finally spoke to the guy for my area today to be told there's no grant money so no thinning or ride work this year unless I have machinery. The other people I have tried is strut and Parker and the wildlife trust who tell me there's no need for cutters here. Be nice to get a break soon.
  8. So true, they all have grant funded shiny new tractors around here.
  9. What sort of rate would you think with the hand burning would be right?? Is it just fell and product length then for you??
  10. I wish I could justify one. Make my life a bunch easier both time and on my back 😜
  11. I could see crane burning be faster but a lot messier.
  12. Cheers for that sir. The rate were getting doesn't seem great and even with a burner I can't get a chain in quicker than 2 days. I can't see how you can cut, stack and hand burn the wood any faster?? I tried to get down Sussex last year but staying away from home for 6 months doesn't really appeal to me and I also have my spoon/bowl business to keep running. As for buying from individuals I don't have a clue how to link a woodland I can see to who owns it and how much to pay.
  13. That's how I make some money over on http://www.thehungrysquirrel.co.uk Sales are low most of the year but xmas is good for sales.
  14. Trying to get some prices out of my local forestry commission officer but it's hard work.
  15. Thanks for that Dave that's a great reply. I have seen a bunch of chestnut fencing and products lately and it's something to get making. It's got to beat cutting for £1600 an acre in over stood hornbeam 😒
  16. Cheers for that Steve. I have been looking at some stands of syc/ash and birch with dbh of 6-10" Yeah selling as cordwood in 2.4/3m whatever is preferred. I have the means to make post and rail but no peeler for normal posts. I know a few guys with forwarders that can extract for £200-400 a day.
  17. That would be the ultimate way to go, if I made chestnut I would need a yard and bigger trailer but firewood would have no cost for me upfront other than the timber.
  18. After spending the past few years cutting firewood/chestnut coppice for people and not making any money I'm looking to try and buy some standing timber. My problem is do I get firewood or chestnut for fencing? I have the skills to process fencing and make decorative work with it but equally cutting and selling firewood roadside sounds appealing to me aswell. Do any of you forestry worker have rough (I know it's hard to give estimates) ton to acre rates??
  19. Might you have some rough prices for the work sir? Maybe including a new gasket to stop me leaving oil everywhere.
  20. Cheers for that reply, i figured it may be a little tougher than I thought. Since getting this saw it now owes me the same as a new one just a shame it has the leak. Will have to get some prices from yourself for a tune up when I get some money sorted, may as well make it into a monster.
  21. Are the Evo 2 available here yet? Don't they also have the clip loop in the laces now.
  22. Seeing as it's raining like mad here I have been cleaning up my 372 and the oil leak it has looks to be coming from the gasket between the cases at the front. Now I'm right in thinking this isn't a 5min job but also something I can't afford to have my dealer do.
  23. You thinking a new carb over a plug in fix??
  24. Thanks for that, looks a lot easier than I was making it.
  25. I still prefer an auto tune to old school saw as my carb adjustment knowledge is pretty bad. Guess in a few years when it's all electric then it will be dialled.
