It's stupid, I know. But the hedge trimmer just doesn't handle the higher revs that well. Not every person is born with a built in sence of working with equipment I guess.
  2. Nice setup Hodge. Been thinking about the same. We use two defenders at the moment -small and old tdi def90 and a newer 110. Always a struggle to get everything we need on site. Toolbox is a great idea! Do you have any more pics of the tipper box layout?
  3. Looks a bit sturdier than the single mount bracket of the old one. Still don't understand the fuel/oil fillers... just to small.
  4. Big shot is an accurate piece of kit. I made a trigger for it using a trigger for archery and a small prusik -not my idea, think I saw it on climbing arborist or so. It's a very simple system -and that's what is nice about it.

Can't comment on this particular engine, but you want to lower power output when using the hedge-trimmer. They do not last long while using full power...
  6. Is it a new ms362 C-M? If it is, it has the new M-tronic on it. Just bought two a few weeks back. Great saws in my opinion. If it isn't the new M-tronic it is still a very good 60cc class saw.

After an accident I had to stop climbing. Started climbing again years later. A lot of things have changed -there are a lot of beautiful and useful thing nowadays to make a climbers life eassier (climbing lines, lighter spurs and things like the zigzag -either you like them or you don't). The jobs don't change and the way you have to do them stay the same. The new things that are around make doing the job less heavy on your body! And that's a very good thing! Never been happier to get back in work I love to do. Don't know everything, but love to learn every day! Ah yes, forgot one important thing... There did not use to be something like arbtalk... Makes life a lot eassier. If you want information or peoples oppinion you just post on arbtalk and you have a whole thinktank a the tip of your thump.
  8. Hi Jon, it's swivel pins were badly worn. No big deal since they were probably new 23 years ago and a lot of miles back. Also am changing the swivel balls and because we are at it right now doing a bit of servicing as well. Still working with it almost every day -even when I do have other options since we also run a newer 110-. It does what it's supposed to to.
  9. My old 200tdi 90 started to get a bit dangerous at 55-60mph -death wobble! Started a long time ago but a long time you could hardly notice it. Last week we decided it was getting to bad... Took us a few hours to dismantle the front axle and another few hours to clean all the dirt and grease of the parts. Would have taken us another three or four hours to built everything back on the axle but we didn't get the right parts!
  10. Did not see the new one yet. If it's that much better in built quality then it must be a great little saw. Personally I think the echo's ergonomics are great.
  11. I've been using a z-master commercial for about 6 years now. Very good built quality I think, nice to operate -like sitting on a lawn chair-. They really don't like uneven lawns or slopes. For the rest a good machine. Since we don't use it that much I have a petrol with Kawasaki engine.
  12. Got a 200tdi 90. Not a new or nice car at all, but does what it's here for -working it's wheels off. Pulls still very well. Sometimes needs a bit of love to keep it going, but engine is still very strong. Got a 110 td5 as well, but still prefer the older 90 for pulling the trailer. Sometime next year I'm planning to buy an other defender -either a 110 three door or a 130 double cab tipper. Don't really know yet what is best -if I go the 110 route I'll put a tipper trailer behind it but still need another vehicle to bring the chipper, go the 130 route I don't need another vehicle to pull the chipper but all the tools are in plain sight when parked...
  13. My mate has got the echo 350TE and zo can't fault it tbh. Built quality is not great -when you compare it to my 201T you notice some stupid things like the filler openings and use of materials isn't that good as well. But for the money it's a very good tool. I want one as a back up saw.
  14. Just bought two 362's and traded in my husq for it. Loved the husqvarna as long as it lasted between breakdowns. Still think the ergonomics as well as the power of the Huskies are slightly better than the Stihl, but I think I can live with the Stihl pretty well. At the moment we only have Stihl saws -before we had a mix of Stihl's and Huskies- except for my workmates Echo climbing saw -have to say I really like that little saw as well, only thing I really dislike are the small oil and fuel openings.
  15. I ordered some things from them last week. I don't live in the uk, but service was great. Phoned them because it was a bit difficult to pay the invoice from mainland Europe, and could pay by phone using a creditcard. Got a lot of helpfull info as well.

    Quotes you like!

This will only take a minute -five hours ago...
  17. Use mine for small and big work. So far it's been great -easy climbing, self tending, seems to keep my climbing rope in better condition. Mine has not cracked yet (2nd series). Only real thing I had to get used to was not to push the descending 'switch' with my arm when I don't mean to. Had me almost sh*t myself on one or two occasions...
