  1. Probably not, but over a day, they will do just as many cuts as a processor, as the overall throughput is probably 10 or 20 times greater. If your throwing a chain away every 10 to 20 tonnes, your not a good operator, and something is far wrong.
  2. I good mate of mine ran a Duun 420, .404 chain and was achieving the same sort of throughput per chain/chain sharpen. Harvesters run these very chains. How many harvesters stop every 10-20 tonnes for a chain change?
  3. I have a Pilke 1 x 42, and a .404 chain will stay sharp up too 100 tonnes, and I can sharpen a chain 10 or 20 times in its life. If he cant keep a chain sharp for 10 to 20 tonnes, he should think about a career change.
  4. From the videos online, this machine produces a lot of small shards when splitting, you'd need the cleaning device to separate the logs from the skud, especially if you want to charge a premium for your logs. I dont think quality logs should have lots of small crap delivered with them.
  5. So your looking at a minimum of £80k plus vat, by the time the machine is in your yard...... £80k could buy a much more versatile set up, and out preform that thing. Not only that, £80ks worth of eggs in one basket, is a risk and a half. When the sh it hits the fan, that's not gonna be pretty.
  6. I can't get them to sit right unless I lift them with the log grab. Bale squeeze would be the ultimate answer, as less chance of pinching the straps.
  7. What machine? Firewood processor? If so which one? Fresh cut, it should be like a hot knife through butter

  10. Well said. I know three or four guys who have paid out thousands to Poland, Russia etc, and gotten zero in return. If the supplier is legitimate, they will spend the first one before pyament. If not, they are well dodge. And if you want to waste thousands of pounds, iam happy to take it, for no return
