Here is my attempt at a door sign, can defientently tell it is not CNC'd. Put a walnut stain into the letters after that. Used the black marker on the wood first before using the router, so that it was roughly right.

Just back from a Burns supper, soup, haggis neaps tattles, steak pie veg tattles, cranachan, washed down with a couple of beers and a couple of drams, all interspersed with songs and poetry, good night out.

My wife has gave me an 'IOU a watch' as a Christmas pressie, she didn't want to buy me one as I am fussy when it comes to certain things, tools and watches being good examples. Some of the things I like in a watch: Simple Mostly numbers not a face full of dashes. Good contrast between face, numbers and hands Good vision at night, being luminous for only 15 minutes after the lights go out is no use to me. Not delicate, cos I ain't. The closest I have found is a Citizen BN0110 but it has a Royal Marines wording on the face, which would have been fine if I was in the RM but I wasn't. Under £300 I have worn £20 Timex Expedition watches for the last 15 years which are indiglow and are great but my wife wants me to have a good watch. Any suggestions are welcome. Cheers

Thanks CJ Problem is, I use a sharpening jig and I don't think it will allow for that 10 degree offset. Don't have it beside me to say for sure. How important is the 10 degree offset?

So I have done a rare thing and read a set of instructions and wished I hadn't. The instructions say first file with a 4.8mm file and then a 4.5mm file and file 10deg of the level and at 25 deg. I have no probs with the 25 degrees bit but using two different size files and 10 deg of the level sounds a bit different to me, what do you think? 686 Chain Sharpening.pdf

Nice close grain for bread boards, cut and sanded a few over the years for that.

I feel sorry for my dog she is terrified of them, goes wide eyed, shaking and starts panting, horrible to see. She is ok with one or two fire work bangs but after that it is misery for her until it is over.

Just gave my dog an extra cuddle after reading this, think I must have a hair in my eye as I can feel them a bit watery. It is amazing how they become so much part of the family. Thanks for posting such a touching post.

So are the the dolly and the Makita 6100 exactly the same, I've same carb etc.? I am now looking to buy one and with the Makita being a bit cheaper I will go for that if the only difference is the colour.

So that is my dolly 116 and my husky 281xp sold, so now looking to buy a dolly 6100, Think my next question is probably for shavey or tcd, is there any difference at all between the Makita 6100 and the dolly 6100, I seem to remember reading that the carbs were different, I know the obvisious difference of the colour and cost . If there is no difference I be as well saving myself a few quid as the colour does not bother me.

Bought a second hand in poor condition Finger Grass Cutter today for a cheapish price, but it has been sitting out in the rain for 3 years, seized, rusty, no belts, pealy paint, so a wee workshop project for me over the winter is a complete strip down and rebuild. Could do with a workshop manual, if anyone has one or is better at searching the Internet than me. I can find the user manual but not workshop one. The model is: Al-ko BM5001R Finger Bar Mower.
