  1. Pics one at time
  2. Bought this today, just because it was for sale 😀, probably not the right saw for me though, any interest or should I just put it on eBay, what do you think. Put a wee bit of fuel and oil in it and it started, not tried it on a tree yet as it was pitch black by the time I got home.
  3. I am with departed here, I drill a 10mm hole about 25 to 35 mm deep, and get the gp into it, I use a fairly liquid bottle for putting the gp in.
  4. Thanks David, need to start reading reading this thread and try and learn some fungi, all very interesting.
  5. And another fungi from yesterday that made me smile. Not good at all on my fungi names.
  6. Look at the size of this beauty that I came across today.
  7. Made one very similar to haironyourchest, except mine doesn't have any music. Found it easier than the saw horses from the manual handling point of view. Made from an old sleeper, some old fence posts and some M12 X 180 coach screws.
  8. Yes loads of it, as agg said earlier, wooden work tops need loads of treatments and loads of maintenance, too much for my liking.
  9. Beech would probably be a better and readily available. Nice and tight grained.
  10. Scarpa boots my favourite, when I started walking the hills 30 years ago, I spent about 2 hours in a local independent outdoor shop, trying on all the different boots, it was Scarpa Mantas I settled on and have bought them ever since. When I put them on it is just like putting on a heavy pair of slippers, never had a bit of foot probs on the hills with them.
  11. The 4 mile walk to the beach at Sandwood Bay near Cape Wrath, pitch a tent, bit of supper and watch the sunset, tremendous, wonder how often they do the bombing runs?
  12. Yeah good advice.
  13. I am not a professional tree climber, done a bit of rock climbing, if it was me in your situation I would be using my normal 11mm dynamic climbing rope, a few short slings, a set of quick draws and my mate belaying for me, and I would be up that tree getting my toy back Do you know the basic techniques or have a mate that does, where are you?
  14. May June is my favourite time in Scotland, nature has sprung back into life, weather although defientlaly not gaurenteed tends to be quite nice, kids are still at school so tourist attractions are not busy. I like West coast as well from the bottom at the Mull of Gallloway right up to Cape Wrath at the top. Buy a tin of Smidge keeps the midges from biting you. Keep us informed as I live in Scotland and always willing to help out if possible and available.
  15. Good pics Bet the horses need a good tick check after that.
  16. Interesting project. You certainaly would not want to be taking that suitcase to an airport, try explaining that one:)
  17. Changed batteries in a 1/2" impact gun today, it stopped taking a charge, new set of batteries from eBay, and soldering iron out for joining 16 X 1.2V cells together. Pic shows old set, new set now on charge.
  18. Got anymore details please? Stubby beat me to it
  19. Just had a look at your website Graham, nice hedge laying work, like it, don't see much of it where I am.
  20. Are we talking about drill cleaning or hang over cures
  21. Interesting, How did you stop the dodgy buyer getting away with it?
  22. That's a cracking arial you have on your near side front wing there Silky
  23. If you end up down the south west coast of Scotland next week, and need a wee dram, bed for the night and a play in my woods, rearrange order to suit, then give me a shout Silky
  24. Vices are expensive, so I wouldn't scrap it just because it has some dings and a bit of weld splatter on it
