  1. I’ve had my name down for a bollinger electric truck for about 30 months, they’d said they’ll be 50,000 dollars in all the build up pr. They finally launched the full price details when they opened deposits to reservation holders last month. 125,000 dollars plus tax and import duty! My name quickly disappeared off the list.

Think it’s more to do with the tiny loads we carry and the tiny distances we travel, and the fact that we like our cars to last 60,000 miles whereas most buyers outside of Europe expect a lot more. look at the load capacity of transits and the like, no one in there right mind is running that as a tax dodge and they still have tiny engines and load capacity. Good luck with the vw, if you keep it right I’m sure it’ll be the cheapest total cost tow tug you’ll have
  3. Love that idea, there’s some other good clips of similar stuff being used, would a mini digger stand up to use as an occasional loader? Are the track motors up to it or would it end costing you a fortune in premature wear? If not then it looks like a great solution. Not sure what the geometry calcs are but surely my 3 ton which struggles with 500kg on the end of the dipper would lift a ton with dipper off and forks in its place and probably do anything my Schaffer loader does easier and in a more stable manner.

I’m on £100/day plus vat, delivery and fuel for my little Schaffer loader if there operating, however I charge it at £80/day if I’m using it on a job myself provided I’m not on it all the time and the customer is paying day rate rather than on price. Tbh any less than that and it’s not worth it, makes more on priced jobs or left at home.
  5. Good old fashioned British service! Don’t know why we’re so shit at it, do people lie because they don’t know there arse from there elbow and shouldn’t be in the job or just that no one really cares or takes pride anymore. The service sector is pretty much all we’ve got so you’d think we’d have it nailed by now.

  7. Might be a bit of a ‘how long is a piece of string’ question but would a 3 ton digger go on a u1000 unimog tipper body ok? Size wise I think it would but would it get up ramps and turn through 90 degrees if a muckspreader or something else was on the the linkage or tow hitch. 20” wheels so not massively heigh but ramps would have to be short to stow in bed. Weight wise would 3 ton on the back and 6t muckspreader (empty) be alright? cheers for any input

  9. Would a bobcat and mulcher head not be quick and pain free to mulch those out. Obviously not yielding any product but no one gets hurt and wouldn’t take 90 days
  10. No offence Kevin but that video makes the multione look like it turns simple, quick jobs into loud and painfully slow ones. Didn’t look like it did any of them well enough for me to part with big bucks for.

  13. Been on the list for one for nearly two years now! The exchange rate is going to kill the dream if it doesn’t change before it comes out.

I must be a tight arse but I’d much rather have a 2012 4.4 Range Rover and late transit tipper and a unimog and a few good nights out for the £40,000+. £20,000 of which will disappear off the value very quickly. I dont mind the tech, but if it’s going to be super modern to me they should have gone all electric and made something groundbreaking that people would fall over themselves to put the money down. Can’t really see what market this hits. All LR these days seem to be so close market wise, model just depends how big you want one and how much you can afford.

  17. Just sold my 16’ flat last week as want a big flat trailer and miss it already. Plant trailers are the best for towing diggers etc but not much use for other bits.
  18. I love the Range Rover for the masses of torque and super smooth gearbox. Never do more than 60mph towing and not a fast driver when not towing but pulling 3.5t up steep hills from standstill and reversing fully loaded very slowly and smoothly is where I want power most. You’d have to rev the arse of the various pick ups I’ve had and kill clutches in the process.

    Got some timbers delivered today on an artic despite saying no artic access. No telehandler or tractor trailer at home so the little Schaffer had to do 400m trips with 1300kg and half of 2000kg+ steuggled lifting over gateways but otherwise well impressed

  22. It’s a femac and approved didn’t say anything when I sent various photos across to try to work it out so hopefully it’s all set and just blown a seal from lack of use. ? it’s that optimism that gets me in the shit in the first place. Thanks for all the pointers on this ?
  23. The drain goes back to a valve block and terminates there not returning to tank on a third line. There’s only the two standard lines coming out of that block to the digger. Thats how it’s been running so assumed it’s ok but maybe I need to do a different set up?? It was a similar spec machine to mine.
