  1. Not shaving is even cheaper😁😁
  2. I agree with the subsidies in principle as it costs huge amounts of money to farm. However the way in which they are distributed is stupid. There are farmer near me farming 3000 plus acres with 3 tractors plus implements. Now these are very big tractors but to farm 50 acres you need one tractor plus implements. Yes smaller tractors but still huge money for something that works! The prices are terrible for what you produce so again it's about how much you can produce. How do you decide what money should be given to who? Until we get real world prices for what is produced the bad system will stay in place. And to change it the big boys would need to agree in effect and they won't as they make too much money. As a side note they should cut some of the red tape!!!
  3. Do they really that must be why none of them go out of business. Edit I should quantify this. Unless you are farming 1000 plus acres it's a struggle to make it worth the bother
  4. And yet with all that if you don't own the land outright you will not make any money!! I think all farmers should stop work and live on this huge amount of money they have been given......... It's a shame we would starve in the process
  5. That's £80k plus turnover each man that seems high?
  6. I'd keep the 6K in the bank and lease something new. You can get most of the main players for around £200 plus vat a month if you don't go to spec. Your in warranty then. And you can write it all (or most of it if you use outside of work) off as an expense.
  7. A small hydrostatic mower might have a small enough one. Plenty of those being broken for spares
  8. Detailing is when someone spends2 days washing a car!! Like my neighbour has done twice a year.
  9. Presumably it won't make any difference as your weight limits will be the same anyway? Or is it to make it look/feel better under load?
  10. I'd stick where you are if the kids are still young. Or at least cut down on it slowly if possible while you build it up. The ability to choose hours is overrated in my experience as it just means that when it's daylight you can go to work and do paperwork when it's dark. Having said that I would not go back to being employed now!
  11. Quick books online for me as you can do all the important stuff on site on a phone if needed. Quotes invoices expenses. You can turn a quote to an invoice with one click. Link bank accounts and it learns what are proper expenses. (You file it the first time eg diesel from x petrol station then next time it knows how to file it for you. All sorts of reports can be made too.
  12. I've just had a thought. I go through a set of average speed cameras once a month on a 60 speed limit at 60(indicated with cruise control on) in my navara and not had a ticket yet. These are digital so they should pick it up if I was supposed to be doing 50 shouldn't they?
  13. Those look good I bought a hs87r yesterday it will be doing its first work this week😁
  14. 👍😀 that's my thoughts too. If it's even slightly tenuous it's out of expenses for me
  15. You should have a read of this mate👍 https://www.gov.uk/expenses-if-youre-self-employed
  16. I don't think that would fly with the tax man. You can't wine and dine potential clients and claim it as expenses so I don't think that's allowed either.
  17. Ste a question about this thing if you don't mind. do you have to have it plugged in at all times? Or is that bad translation? Thanks
  18. You would think it's got to be a wind up? Unless the bank really has lost the plot!
  19. What was the topic..........😁 Fair enough. I think my point is that there is government money going everywhere in subsidies and who is to say which area is worthy? Farmers, fishermen, land owners, military, poor people lazy basterds the list goes on and on!!
  20. giving billions for people to sit in their arse is fine is it?
  21. If big business did not make big money it would not be there at all. Then we would have to pay out more. You have invested in stuff for your work and want (I assume) a return on that investment. It's the same for these big companies just on a much larger scale.
