  1. Loads round here doing "gardening" for £10-£12 an hour always pop up in may. Just working out of cars some do a reasonable job but they all disappear by about September. Don't bother trying to compete just do my own thing
  2. That's bloody confusing (the article in the link!)
  3. JB weld do that kind too. Useful for a quick fix when on site
  4. If you are a subby in the tree game don't you need ropes and saws and transport etc too?
  5. And here's me thinking it is all Eastern Europeans working for nowt in the building trade
  6. Have you managed to deal with it without ripping it all up?
  7. So why do trailer manuals say you must chock the wheel if on anything other than flat ground?
  8. No I do that's not what I meant! I was only meaning having an arrangement by ourselves with the USA not through Europe
  9. We don't want a Europe-US trade deal we need a U.K.-US trade deal
  10. Depends if your talking Tesco or independent Iocal shop I suppose It's about volume of sales though isn't it. If you are selling 25 a week of something for example you need more margin than selling 5000. There is no one fits all
  11. If you had a shop and sold something that cost you £10 for £14 you would be bankrupt
  12. He's a bloody handy chap to have around!
  13. You could try Lms at wellingore too. Bit of a trek but worth a phone call
  14. But YOU are costing the boss a lot more than the £90 you get. Your boss has to pay your holidays your kit your ppe sick pay etc etc Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. But the freelance isn't costing twice as much as someone else said earlier( sick pay holiday pay NI tax equipment etc) all costs you don't have. Are you stacked out with work? If you are then he's in the position that he needs to get work out the way asap. If you really feel like he won't let you move forward then you may have to leave get a new job/go on your own
  16. Spaldings maybe or fg Adamson both worth asking
  17. Imo you need to put the money thoughts to one side. For the reasons already stated plus the fact he can just do the job. As the others say talk to your boss about how you want to learn more. Don't mention money as there are too many that want paying top money yet aren't worth it yet. Once you are good enough you will get the pay rise as you will be worth more to the business
  18. Just out of interest how deep is the gravel? I always put at least 2 inches down and it seems looking back at various jobs like this I've done that the thicker the gravel the less problems you have with weeds. That said gravel is not maintenance free like people think it is.
  19. Keeping on at the council can have unwanted effects too! On an estate near me they put in those stupid give way to oncoming traffic chicanes. Yet people park far too close to them due to stupidity and no double yellow lines that the road is far more dangerous than before. There is a campaign to take them out again supported by the residents
  20. Hi all I'm looking for a piece of tree trunk 12-14 inches diameter or thereabouts about a foot long. Cherry or sycamore or something else that are food safe. Dry if possible so I can use it straight away. If anyone is near Lincoln I'm happy to pay for it. Thanks in advance Richard
  21. But at that price you can just bin and buy another! The brake thing would put me off though. I've only got small stihl saws but I feel confident the safety brake works. (It may be no better than the cheap ones but for me being slightly scared of even the ms170 it suits me fine!)
  22. The second amendment isn't that bright. Just my opinion though;)
  23. This is true but when the conservatives only got 11.3million votes to get 331 seats how does 3.8m votes return 1 seat?! I did not vote ukip but do find the numbers weird!!
  24. It's not that hugely different to our system though is it? UKIP got 12.6% of the vote yet 1 seat in parliament.
