  1. That makes sense. The manuals on my mowers say wait till the light goes off not a specific time. Early and late season grass cutting the light can take between about 5 and 8 mins to go off. From now until September it’s usually off within 1 minute.
  2. If it’s anything like my big mowers. It’s just to warm the oil up so that you aren’t forcing it through the filters until is gone that bit thinner. Mower has a light that switches off after oil is at the right temp. In practice I don’t think it makes much difference but I let it warm through anyway
  3. Can’t work out if that’s good or bad! Good they honour the warranty but bad they need to! What broke?
  4. I’ve had the same with a conifer hedge I cut twice a year for someone. I thought it was from the snow maybe though not really sure! Does this recover? It does seem to have improved a bit already
  5. How far are you likely to be going over hard surfaces? I wouldn’t be worrying about it personally. I’ve never had one go in ten years commercial work. Then again I only keep mowers for 3 seasons at the most
  6. Picked this one up for £5 at Lidl the other day. Because I dropped this On a job last week and spent 25 mins looking for it, and don’t want to lose it. The Lidl one is cheap nasty rubbish in comparison but seems to work ok
  7. It’s not just about money though (it might be to some) The idea is a properly good one if it can harvest spare renewable energy that would be otherwise wasted/put into the grid for a pittance. Oh and by the way batteries WILL keep getting better. YouTube doesn’t have all the answers especially with people trying to prove the big companies wrong from their garage!
  8. You do realise that is a battery factory I just showed you not the car plant?
  9. Ha what? You’ve just been shown the gigs factory. I do also believe it’s a co-op with Panasonic. It doesn’t mean they don’t make them are have a humongous factory in the making does it!!
  10. Really? https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/gigafactory
  11. Tried that the whole machine had been back to stihl uk for testing. They think it’s fine... it’s not. I’m only back on the 46-2 as the bast if my spools wore out on the 40-2. I’ve found some online and ordered enough for about 5 years so I’ve not got to worry about it for now. For the record it’s perfect with the 40-2 or Oregon jet fit. The new one is rubbish
  12. Thanks. While you are on here. Which bright spark at stihl thought it was a good idea to change the strimmer head from the 40-2 to a 46-2? It’s unbalanced and flimsy compared to the 40-2. Why do you have to “fix” things that aren’t broken?
  13. I’ve got the extendable long reach hedge cutter (hla 85 I think is the number) and even with the Ap 300 on full extension it’s really far too top heavy, I know it’s not used like that very often (at least for me) but to be lighter still with a backpack battery like you can use would be a no go for me. Besides that you get 3 hours runtime with the ap300. Ive never used all the battery as 3 hours trigger time is plenty and if it wasn’t I’d get another 3 hour battery rather than a backpack.
  14. Won’t the balance be off now with the petrol machine attachments there is no petrol engine/or even battery to balance it out? Edit hadn’t seen dans reply!
  15. People don’t bang on about white people being racist. They bang on about racist people being racist. A small distinction I know!
  16. That’s probably true, I guess my point was more than that originally. These other places with no war are striving to be like the west and failing or at best getting there incredibly slowly. Would they not be best to live a bit more like their ancestors. While iPhones are nice I think a simple life would be good too. Nothing is simple
  17. Are they running away because they hate where they grew up or is it because the West can’t keep their nose out of everyone else’s business causing war?
  18. Why is European/white better than other races/ cultures? Someone posted a video on here not long ago about a man climbing a massive tree in the jungle somewhere to get honey for his family. Now it’s bloody mad to do what he did but there is something special about living like that. I bet he is happier than you are!
  19. You see colours I see people some good some not so good and some complete morons. I’ve lived in the countryside all my life or very close to it. Maybe if I’d grown up in the middle of a big city I’d feel differently, I doubt it though
  20. It’s missing the point if they have been paying taxes all these years! I’d rather the nhs give medical treatment to people that work and pay taxes (whatever passport they have or don’t have) Than treat the work shy idiots this country has far too many of!!
  21. This. They don’t like starting hot at all either when valve clearance is wrong
  22. Agree I don’t think he’s giving himself enough credit for stopping.
