  1. Why don't you ask around, see if anyone with a lathe could make you one in aluminium, depending on whats on the back to attach the spring it could be quite a simple turning job.
  2. I would agree with above, wash it out, clean the paint off and a skim of JB weld in crack and level it.
  3. Yeah I have spotted that answer already now. I had never seen that little blue arrow before, now the site is almost perfect don't change too much.
  4. Don't know if anyone one else has mentioned it but when I open a thread that I have previously read it always takes me to the original post, on some forums it takes you to the message you read up to last time. Is that a cookie related thing?
  5. Depends what grade is in it already and if it is just a straight mineral hydraulic oil and not some fancy semi synthetic oil. The reason for going to 46 grade is usually because the system is getting hot and losing power, conversly if you are mostly working in cold weather and the machine doesn't get too hot then going to a heavier grade will just lose you a bit of power. If you can't be sure where it came from make sure it is new and clean.
  6. Yeah, the rectifier converts the alternator ac to dc, mostly hidden inside but sometimes they hang them on the back of the alternator for better cooling. As above check your belt, connections and cables if that doesn't fix it then probably and alternator fault.
  7. If it is a poor connection on one of the heavy cables coming from the alternator you should sort it soon as losing connection when the alternator is charging can damage the rectifier. It could be that a diode in the rectifier has a bad connection or is on the way out.
  8. How do they keep the blades pointing forwards?
  9. Mintex ceratec is better than copper grease for stopping brake squeal it's the proper stuff.
  10. You will want to get an auto welding helmet and a pair of gloves, I use the TIG welding sort which are a soft leather a lot thinner than the big chunky welding gauntlets so they won't stop as much heat but you can actually hold something with reasonable dexterity. Like this. LEATHER GAUNTLETS TIG GLOVES PROFFESIONAL SOFT LEATHER WELDING GLOVES HEAVY DUTY | eBay
  11. Oil leaks are the anti corrosion system, don't turn that off or you will be complaining that the chassis and bulkhead have rusted away.
  12. As Treequip said. It's not just as simple as putting a tee piece in somewhere, it all depends on what type of pump and system it is. I would speak to someone from Cat, there may already be provision for adding on extra services.

  14. I guess an auger can rotate both ways so the flow can be put down either pipe, where as a breaker and a splitter only require a pressure and return. The return line when in breaker mode should go direct back to tank (rather than through the spool valve) so there is less back pressure. I work a splitter off a Yanmar B08 (.8tonne) and it works fine, maybe anything bigger than say a 3t machine may provide too much oil then you will have overheating problems.

    Brushcutter line

Don't keep reminding me it's only 25cc - you make me feel inadequate No, I am not cutting any brambles etc. just long grass next to the fences and walls. I have ordered some of the 3mm diamond stuff and I'll try it in the bump head to see how it cuts.

    Brushcutter line

So if you go with the fixed head do you take the guard off?

    Brushcutter line

Ok. so is it this one OREGON HEAVY DUTY 4 LINE JET FIT STRIMMER/BRUSHCUTTER ALUMINIUM HEAD 111111 | eBay How do you fit the new lengths of line? isn't it a PITA. to have to stop and fit line if you hit a wall or barbed wire and knock the length right down? Would I be right in thinking it would be better in larger areas of brush where there are not too many stones or fence posts to hit.
  18. Spray it, bash it down (either brushcutter or contractor) spray it again next year then stick some sheep on it
  19. Got a Husky 525RXT recently and it came with some line on the spool I forgot to ask about line when I got it and now everytime I bump it it I wonder if it will run out, so. Should I take a trip to the Husky dealer and get a roll of super-duper expensive Husky line or just get some cheapo of Eblag? Are there different types/grades of line? for my little old McCulloch I just used to buy the cheapest. Thanks, Kev
  20. take a look at https://agricamera.co.uk/
  21. A mini digger and some soft slings would do it, easy to hire.
  22. Yep, that is well dodgy esp. calling it a "dakota cabin"
  23. Why does it have the spinning disc type window bit, like you would find on a fishing boat? And I have never seen a windscreen split in three before - odd!
  24. If it is registered you should have got a V5 document with it, or if you have the reg. no from the advert pic you can check with the gov. website https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla
