  1. I would have thought something like this would provide enough flow and pressure, but it would be interesting to know the figures from both the tractor and the power pack. JCB Hydraulic Compact PowerPack c/w hydraulic gun/breaker/hoses WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Hydraulic gun and hoses. Very little use over the last few years.
  2. What caused this? or was it long ago created by somebody, it is on a dying elm in a graveyard. Wish I had spotted it years ago before it rotted.
  3. That's what I want to know too, I googled it but all I get is a tiddlywink piece?
  4. There is no "shelf life" for diesel, within reason, mine has been in the tank for years and the digger doesn't complain. I personally prefer a steel tank but a fuel tank of any sort is best kept in a shed out of the sun and away from prying eyes.
  5. I believe the rules have just changed for asulox and it can only be sprayed by helicopter (bizarely) but go onto the farming forum and look for bracken there is a good discussion there about it.
  6. That looks like a good idea if you have a bigger cleaner and you don't want to keep emptying it, but for my size 2L I can just empty it and wipe it out. The size that he has in that vid is probably over £300 Another thing is the ultrasonic does't work as well if there is entrapped air in the component so not sure about sinking a jar with a heavy part in it and having an air space under water.
  7. Thanks. Can you remember what size you went for? Mine is the 2L one for jewellery £100, a larger capacity would be handy sometimes but it all costs. I have had the cheap ebay ones in the past and they are not as powerful and then they stop working. Just empty the water out when you have finished and give it a wipe, stainless steel so comes up as good as new.
  8. I got mine from this lot, well worth getting the stainless bodied ones with a heating element, I just use water and a squirt of fairy liquid, marvellous things. Ultrasonic cleaner for carburettor, jewellery and dental cleaning WWW.BESTULTRASONIC.CO.UK Buy Ultrasonic Cleaners for home or business. Ultrasonic cleaning for carburettors, jewellery, dental instruments. Based in Yorkshire. Free UK delivery.
  9. So you don't think there is any disease/fungus that has killed it and is affecting the next door plants then, just the fact that the stump and root system was too big.
  10. I cut down a tall straggly hedge a few years back and replanted beech in the gaps it is now generally doing well but the biggest stump, about 24" across had some nice growth but this year it has died. It has some fungal growth on the top of it and I wonder if it has affected it, the worrying thing is that a new plant either side have some dead leaves. I can cut it off low and replant around it but if it is diseased will it spread?
  11. I am not an electronics expert but is it not the case that a variable frequency device will allow you to reduce the frequency and the speed or increase for faster but in either case if you run the motor to slow or too fast it will overheat, so I would suggest altering the gearing mechanically first and then you can tweak the speed with a VFD after.
  12. I have the 125mm boards with a 25mm gap then a second layer on top, the same boards but straddling the gaps on my wood shed and the rain and snow still blows in - it will do as you want the wind to blow in but sometimes that wind is going to be laden with wet snow! The wood gets wet sometimes but dries out quickly.
  13. I did mine last year (8x5) and the main problem is you can find all sorts of materials but very few in a single 8x5 sheet and I didn't want a join in the middle of the floor to catch things. So eventually I got a sheet of Buffalo board (phenolic resin) from a builders merchant but I had to get a 10x5 sheet and cut it to fit. You can find all sorts of big sheets online but the delivery just kills it as couriers wont take that size of sheet. I painted all the edges of the new sheet and strengthened one of the crossmembers that was bending, looks tidy now but I hate throwing stones into it, I have to place them carefully.
  14. I think you may have problems with modern (CANBUS) wired vehicles but I don't think even the last defenders were CANBUS. If you do have a glitch it can be sorted with a little box of electronic tricks. I put LED lights on my Ifor and they all work fine behind my defender, go for LED if possible as they are much more reliable.
  15. Is there plenty of oil in the reservoir, shouldn't make a difference to the manual pump but worth a look, after that if you want to fix the manual pump you will have to start going into it, with the chance that you may damage something and/or upset the electric one. I would disconnect the hose and undo those two big allen screws first, then the manual pump should come off. Be aware of any o rings and springs with ball bearings falling out. Once you have the manual pump on the workbench you should be able to see whats what, pull all the little gallery plugs out and any check valves - watch out for springs. You should be able to get o rings and seals from your local place.
  16. Could be there is a fault in the manual pump or a check valve not checking somewhere, you could start pulling valves out and checking them but you may upset the electric pump or damage something, a difficult one. Is there a valve/plug on the back of the block opposite the manual pump piston, that would be first suspect and shouldn't really affect the electric pump.
  17. Very often those solenoid valves have a pin in the middle you can push/pull to manually over ride it. It would seem an odd setup if you haven't got enough electric to work the motor but you still need to have some electric to power the solenoid while you manually pump the handle.
  18. Is that a button on the solenoid, can you press that in and then pump.
  19. Haul the foreman into court and threaten him with the 10grand fine and he might come up with a different story to the MD.
  20. Could you just tee off your side or fog light feed with one of these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-12V-RF-Remote-Switch-Controller-Dimmer-for-Mini-LED-Strip-Light-Panel-Wifi-FT/123147925759?_trkparms=aid%3D555017%26algo%3DPL.CASSINI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D55148%26meid%3D253db3a2e67149a08bc4ffc28f1e71f0%26pid%3D100505%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26%26itm%3D123147925759&_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226 Would need to also connect its earth, it says in the bumf that it can handle 12a. It should work, the remote is a bit fancy though and would look bad if you were going along the road with the reversing lights doing a disco!
  21. Thats ok then, you will just lose 40secs of time on your new clock for every start, when you have it wired up pull a wire off the fan to check that the crusher jaws stop working as the relay/circuit could see the new clock as the fan working. If the jaws continue to work you would have to find another supply for the clock.
  22. The fan is running all the time the engine is switched on is it? it's not on a thermostat?
  23. That bush winch looks good as a quick get me out but you would need to have a difflock or you would need to fit one either side.
  24. I guess the Disco is CANbus electrics and has a live feed to the trailer all the time, wouldn't work with my oldie-worldy style Landrover. what connections do you use in the plug?
  25. This, they are called "Mr funnel" expensive but they work perfectly. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mr-Funnel-Fuel-Filter-Funnel-F15-Pro-Dual-Filter-Dirt-And-Water-Separator/192052270683?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D43782%26meid%3D5864add8619944bbb0ab9db3e00e0cff%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D142409715335%26itm%3D192052270683&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 petrol and diesel flows through but if you fill it with water not one drop comes out, amazing!
