  1. Mine is starting to feel like that. Was idling fast and having weird fits of running really fast and sounding worryingly lean. Reduced the idle and now it cuts out constantly and won't start without either half choke or a bit of throttle. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  2. SRT is easy, running bowline with a long tail or retrieval rope attached to the splice? Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Something like this? https://www.facebook.com/High-Country-Contracting-426332230901822/ Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Definitely bring gear over with you, at the very least I'd recommend buying new boots before you come over. I'm buying more airstreams when I come back to the UK in May as they are over £300 here. Food will be more expensive than you expect, fuel is slightly cheaper. Vehicles and electronics are expensive so if you like your technology then buy a new phone before you come. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. I don't really know Dennis, hopefully it works out for you but if it doesn't then let me know. Rentals getting harder to come by but I'm sure you'll be fine. Make sure any house you rent is warm and dry, some of the houses are shocking here, mold and condensation.. The modern homes are good but they used to build houses like we don't have winter, it can still get down to - 5c here which is cold enough. Homes with wood fires are great if you are an arborist though! Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Yep inland Northern New Zealand get stinky hot. You get used to it (sort of). Better work wear and lots of water is half of the solution. The other half is to put it to the back of your mind and crack on Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Hey mate I live in T. A. Who are you working for? Hit me up if you have any questions about the area Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Nah mine was cheap, probably around £25. Can't find anything exactly the same in the UK but this looks similar http://www.broughtonlubricants.co.uk/drum-pump-hose-adaptor-for-20l-monty Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. I'm in NZ but most car/engineering places sell them as mechanics use them for servicing vehicles Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. One of these for filling up the combi can with bar oil. Attaches to 20L container - no more spouts or spills.
  11. Top job and great set-up by the way!
  12. This [ame] [/ame] Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Yeah I guess its possible, I'm pretty religious with the chain brake and mostly switch it off. Thanks for pointing it out though as I hadn't considered it. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. I clip the 2511 trigger handle on my left/rear large caritool. I try not to leave it running but even if it is it will only get hot on my arse after a minute
  15. Yes I could but I live in New Zealand! They sell them on Amazon UK. I have read countless pages of reviews on Chinese, Uk and US websites for the same design unit, and come across a couple of 'not charging' reviews, but mainly good feedback. I really miss them though.. It might just be the cables but due to them using a non standard charging port, I can't test them with another cable. The charging light comes on if I wiggle it about, but doesn't seem to fit the port properly - so the unit itself is working, however the charger port/cable is faulty. I have a friend who bought a similarly priced but different Chinese model which has run for years.
  16. New Plymouth is also worth checking out
  17. No actually I was meaning to update this post. The units performed spectacularly.. For a short period of time. One unit stopped charging, shortly followed by the other. Not sure if I was unlucky, most of the reviews I read were good. The seller told me to send them back but postage was uneconomical. Very disappointed as very good otherwise. I've also read if problems with senas and other high priced units however - that's putting me off buying something 'better'. It either needs. To be cheap or bomb proof in my eyes, in our industry at least. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. My poor Echo after it got stuck in a log and was pulled out of my hands. Would be much better if the strop attachment was on the lower body of the saw
  19. It's a bad pracitice that is sometimes required for 'bad' trees (dysfunctional). That doesn't appear to be a bad one, but unless you know the full story...
  20. I guess I would do some further investigation as to what are the signs and symptoms relating to the mulch 'killing' the gum trees. There are lots of different P&D's which can make Euc's look as though they are about to kick the bucket.
  21. Seems deep for mulch. Was it seasoned or green?
  22. Seen twin axle land cruiser utes before but not a patrol. Tray seems a bit small, can't imagine much weight on there unless the blokes in the back are proper pie scoffers. Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. I'm enjoying mine, still have to sort out decent cutting equipment but otherwise no complaints Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Working holiday visas are aimed at people who are doing short stints of working whilst traveling. The 6 month rule applied when I had my working holiday visa Sent from my SM-G930F using Arbtalk mobile app

    Pole Chainsaw

I bought a Husky 525 which is a combination unit. Engine is superb, light, low vibrations and reliable. The cutting gear (have polesaw and long hedge trimmer seem good, but the main downfall is the attachments seem hard to connect to the unit and often when you think it's in it hasn't meshed. Also mine has no rubber foam on the outer shafts which I've seen on some of the other pole saws. Have the little extension which is very handy but the thing gets a bit bendy.
