  1. Actually I will show your creations for my fiancé, and come back to you. We need a bench for our back garden.
  2. Checked your facebook site, absolute awesome ! Thanks for offer, really kind of you Ian, thanks !! I'm the kind of person likes to pay for myself and like the feel I done this so this I sort out myself, and I will do a damn good job of it.. All your comments have proven I'm in the right and I will pick up my van and now I know for sure he is a bull shitter and I don't need to feel any guilt telling him that...
  3. Thank you very much Mark this depends on how a big drinker you are, might cost me an arm and a leg lol !
  4. He might be buying it for a xmas present.
  5. Chainsaws is a crazy tool, learn it understand it and master it. And go for it. And the least of your worry if going to take down trees is to keep busy, when i did tree surgery i was crazy busy.
  6. I been using chainsaws for a very very long time, and i have a loose grip on the saw, i could not work the saw if i gripped it with my thumb or i would even say it would be unsafe to work that way, i let the saw work for me. I'm even using my knees and elbows at times if i cross cut, move the arms a lot but let the saw go its own way. And i done it since the age of 12, and when employed worked beside power lines, meant felling 50 trees daily for a lot of years.. And i never heard of anyone using a real thumb grip, if they did they would have hurt themselves by now. The more you grip the saw and hold on to it the more damage you get, you muscle tense and you get vibration in your body, you must follow the flow of it and work like a musical with your tool.
  7. Welcome i hope you will enjoy it here, it's a Awsome forum this.
  8. That above seems like just doom, perhaps it's just a reflection on how i feel about this van carry on, but the summer been real good. #up till that van MOT lol# but now i will get this done myself, and go out do a lot of good looking stumps out there, and leave plenty of happy customers behind me. Find a Climber and a Chipper guy for next summer when i start advertise for Tree Surgery.
  9. I think the mistake i did was to spend a lot on a machine and leave small money to the van. Started to buy a horse lorry van, due to my step daughter does horse jumping, and that was a wreck and got it for 2500 pounds down in England, went down in a train to York to get it, drove the wrong way home ended up in Edinburgh instead of Ayrshire area. And that i ended up cutting down due to it was to heavy with the machine, made a new body to it, and failed MOT and was way to much bother to sort, big problems on it. bought another van, took the body i built and made it fit on this other van. All in all this have costed me total of 5 thousand. By this time in my plan i had back then i would have bought another Predator the 50 or 75, it have been a huge setback for me and now this guy cant deliver. The van is from 01 drives very good, and all the back of it is body repaired and treated by myself, and i did a good job of it, now i have in total 6 areas where metal needs cut out below the cab and replaced and that is all, a small job. This Van did me very good till i went in for an MOT. so 5 weeks of hire a van.. So i have done a lot of mistakes but i learn from them and i will jump back stronger and more determined then ever. I really wanted to have had a bigger machine by now, even try and get in to a big digger machine with an extra engine in the back, to driver the stump grinder wheel. I am to blame for it all and i cant put the blame elsewhere to be honest, i done wrong and i will learn from it. I'm not made of money and i have had to fight for every penny all my life with hard work. But looking back i should have had waited a little longer with buying the machine till i could have had afforded both a new machine and a new van, now it was a new machine and a old vans.
  10. yes just had a word with my fiancé there, and we cant have this, I have been as polite as I can. And now i loose money on this, and unlike him i do take customers as number one. I did a 90 pounds job a very small job, but the hire of the van made it so i lost money on it. But this was timed for a day and a time where i could not tie in any other jobs to. On Monday i go and pick it up. I have this thought that what if he have welded on this van without disconnecting the battery and have done damage to the electronics ? Anyhow no matter i go down there and get the van and get do it myself or get it to some that will deliver. So that's about it, im actually going to text him right now about it, I'm just don't want another promise from the guy. I'm not waiting till Monday, he just need to get down there tomorrow even tho it's not open and give me my van so i can get this done, the less this clown got to do with this the better... Might even go down to Key line buy a HUGE bit of plywood and write .. This guy is a bull shitter delivers nothing but bad news !!!!
  11. Sad to hear, I hope they didn't get away with something that can't be replaced.
  12. Yes you guys are correct, and so do the folks at my main job say. I actually work as a welder lol, and doing this stump grinding as job aswell.. Even tho I am a lumberjack in my real trade. But this is way over the limit and the only thing he can deliver is bad news. I did welding on this van myself on the back, when I took off the back of it and did it to suit for my machine.. But I have a Tig welder and Stick in same.. For this thin material I need a mig.. Got the Tig up for sale on Ebay now, no use for it.. So either I buy a mig welder or hire one.. I am so so very disappointed.
  13. I have drove one once, they seems to be nice wee vans in my opinion.
  14. I would not be to shocked if i see this guy at rogue traders one day.
  15. MOG there will be, but in a distant future. And from now i will do all prep job for MOT's myself. I don't understand how he can promise and promise, was to be a MOT yesterday, and today, one text he sent me today he was on his way down to get it done, the next i answer Passed ?? then he answer the Mot have not phoned him yet. I have even offered him to go down there myself and get the job done using his welding equipment and cutting tools. I spoke to my neighbor, fiancé spoke about it at her work, and she can talk.. Now he got negative feedback, and it will affect his business. And in some strange way i feel guilty over that... Scrolling down my phone and there is so many excuses. This van have failed in rust in a few places, so the job is to cut it out and clean the area, cut new metal bits and weld it on, and rust treat it. If i done it myself i recon it would take me 6 hours in total. So could have it done in a day. Or he could have worked 2 late nights at his workshop and finish the job. I'm to old to go down there and start a big argument, it will lead to nothing. I got a car needs a service and his place will be the last i go to after this. Told him the 17th is the very very latest i can get it back, due to work started at that date. This is the 31st and he still giving me story telling i know is lies. Feels this is all i can think about now. I have never came across a guy like this in my life, fiancé had spoken to some who said He never should have stopped cleaning cars he is not a mechanic. So that was his last trade.. Confidence is very low right now.
  16. If his mom says no, my mom says OK.
  17. Down the the garage today at 12:00, the guy is very nervous, said the VAN will be done today I PROMISE ! Told him i got a strong deja vu feeling. Stop bullshitting me and get the job done Buddy ! At 17:00 he is to phone me again. CLOWN !
  18. Yesterday I got a text from him, At the MOT station the Vota something is down. Today I got a text the vota what ever that is up, and MOT at 16:00. Now its 16:55 still nothing from this guy. I have totally lost confidence in him and I don't think he will reply and if he replies it will be bad news or another B **** story. Sick and tired on this clown ! I'm in need of some good news, I need my van back !!! when I turn up he shake life a leaf and bombard me with story telling.
  19. I got a 460 been very good for me, had it for 11 years, and still going strong. Hope it will still do me a few more years.
  20. No got the first but the second I qualify for lol
  21. Exercise every morning, every night, and keep warm.
  22. If this is not sorted by tomorrow i will be down there in a Mad Swedish Viking Rage so Oden bless him then !
  23. Looks like a 150 pounds job to me.
  24. The quotes in the beginning was way to low, now i have learned what the real cost is, and how much to put aside to save up to next adventure. I work very hard now to pay this machine off, I have a Dream !! A new model UniMog with front monted Chipper, a Big Trailer with a strong crane, a farm house with sheds, store logs, sell logs, cut timber to fence posts, and fence, do some fencing, well that's what i want it to grow in to.
  25. Hello folks Have this happen to you ? I had my van in for MOT and it failed due to rust. So left it at a guy having a garage and doing welding jobs and all sort of van jobs. He told me I have it back within the week, so Saturday I went down to see if I could pick it up, but he had been so busy not had any time. OK ! so I rented a van doing the jobs, took 100 pounds off the profit. Next Saturday again I went down to pick up my van, he had done nothing to it, but promised me he will have it done within a few days. again next Saturday and the same again. 4 times ! This is a friend to a friend .. Last night I was so angry i got a headache and shaking syndrome ! He was to get a MOT for it he says now, and if he get that done without sorting the problem then he think he done me a favor ?? I think not, i want my Van sorted right it is to do me years to come. This guy is like a machine gun with excuses, i have spent a lot of money on van hire to get works done, Hired a van for a small job just to get it done, lost money on the work, but if i say a Sunday at 10:00 then it's a sunday at Ten. No matter what. Some folks have no idea how to treat customers, and my patience and politeness have dried out.
