1. The amount of posts would be less, people like pictures and very little to read. Need to feed the pig what the pig wants.
2. I'm learning the guy i train up in welding here in Scotland how to say Perkele ! Simples he wont pass till he can say it correctly ! I have had so much fun with PERKELE, perhaps i shall record it one day.. Let him say Perkele, and i say it, and so on. But have to be outside work place, no recording devices are allowed in there.
3. Epic this !! think i listen to that 40 times LOL
4. That is how you say PERRRKELE .. Best ever !!!
5. Nice to see how good it turned out for you there Rachel, been reading the full thread. Who needs the job seekers ?? A shame you live so far away, or i would have asked you to run my grinder.
6. I'm still in your position, and at one point i was thinking of buying one of the spider lifts aswell, but i ended up with a stump grinder. I was looking on it in the way it must be something i absolutely love doing, something i feel i can do every awake hour on the day. And i felt after thinking in that way that a stump grinder is for me. I had used them quite alot before when i hired them for my tree surgery company. And i enjoyed every second of it. The thought is always on the work, and in the beginning at the very least every awake hour needs to be focused on the company. Find new ways of getting the wheel spinning. At the moment i'm avoiding as far as i can to advertise in papers. I do think that always money needs to be put aside as much as possible for hidden costs. i take away 25 % of any income and put aside for a rainy day, if the engine blows or anything. I do think you will get busy with a spider lift, there is alot of companies looking to hire them. medium sized industry hire them, change lights, service a indoor crane, just about anything, i think your market is wide and if you put your mind to it then it is a success. There is same with stump grinding, the market is quite wide, you got tree surgeons, private folks you give cards to and they give it to a friend, monoblockers, fencers, builders. Better if you have a job on the side, to give in some sort of security, so you have the time and no need for panic if the phone goes silent for a while. Try to see the positive in everything, make sure to learn from mistakes, and turn the mistake over to something good, so your mindset stays the same. Look around you and see what other companies there are, see how you can do it better. To get more business. There is Ebay, gumtree, forums, facebook page, taking part in conversations on youtube in videos around your area, like pages on facebook and take part in conversations, advertise in local papers, make sure your name is out there, order big banners from vista print secure them well and hang them over a bridge, just about anything so your name is there, folks needs to see it many times to remember, so your aim is to make sure folks in your area know your name and know what you are doing. It's a gradual thing, it takes time, but it works and in time it will be a new life style with more freedom. Try to avoid over spending or taking out to big loans.
7. People are just amazing and some are so stupid
8.
I got springer spaniels, but i'm afraid it would be to warm for the poor wee souls to be left in the cab. And if i had them running loose i would be worried they runned in to the grinding wheel. How do you know i have dogs tho ?

9. Use two sets of boots, and simply Screw the spikes on to the boot on the bottom of the boot.
10. I seen them on Swedish Tv, they are over there and creating mayhem, doing monoblocking.
11. Clearing gutters, painting jobs, tree jobs, building sites often hire them with operator. I think building sites is where you would get most of your jobs.
12. I got a friend being a manager on quite a few building sites, i give him a call and see if he got any ones he can copy or templates or something. I hear him quite alot talking about the Health and Safety on building sites how important it is and how he could end up in jail if he done make sure everything is in order.
13. What i can say about a tracked grinder is that it can turn around on a penny
14. If there is a garden extremely tidy i like to keep it that way after i leave, and a wheeled grinder just have to wait, the finances says no... no... no... at the moment lol
15. Grinded a cherry stump a few hours ago, extremely nice and tidy garden, i'm so tired i could fall down and sleep, i moved boards back and forward making sure i was not getting the tracks on a single inch, up and down outdoor stairs, covering the full area with boards around it and on the grass, behind the machine if something would get back behind the machine, took 10 minutes to grind it out, and around 2 hours to travel from the van to the stump and back. There must be a better way of doing this. What do you guys using to cover the grass when you drive your machine on it ? Im starting to understand that a tracked machine isn't always a bonus, this ones goes on 2 wheels for 6k or so would have been a gift from god today ! But need to earn more money before i go that road. I had in my mind if it was something thats light that i can roll out... Also realise that dust isn't good to breathe in, so ordered a good dust mask. So exiting being new in this trade ! And such joy to work for happy and nice customers, this is what i liked when i had my tree surgery company taking down trees and doing hedges. Perhaps if there isn't anything on the market, i will make something myself, but surely there must be something ?
16. Any of you guys made a home made blade for your machine? I'm thinking of making one for my grinder, to fit it in the front somehow, easy on and off, even thought of putting a hook in the back so i can pull a trailer behind me, could be handy on some jobs.
17. Once you get one, you cant do without one !
18. Really nice with that winch on the blade
19. Fiance just like having it on for the look of it i think. Hot or cold not much matter to her.
20. Amazing photos, so good to see all kinds of work and machines. I could not ask for more to entertain me
