  1. No, came from the viz Facebook site!
  2. I'm sure I know this one, it's on the tip of my tongue!
  3. No it didn't. Mea culpa.
  4. Pedant not pendant. oh the irony!
  5. Great film, nice guy. He needs more than one saw though.
  6. He never asked for sympathy. Indeed specifically said so.
  7. You make a good point.
  8. Bad one, done the same myself but not as deep. It happens. Good luck with the recovery.
  9. Ha ha, I've had the same problem:001_smile:
  10. I get on with my own work the best I can, I don't waste my time slagging off other people's and posting pictures where I don't know the specs, so me and my mates can throw their hand up in faux horror to make themselves feel better.
  11. Oh get over yourself, someone wanted more light in their garden so hammered a non TPO tree. Big deal.
  12. You've got the wrong saw then. Get a 192 or a 150.
  13. I looked into them, it's just the fuel thing really. You would really want to use it for pricing, to look flash, but driving round all evening/weekend in one of those would be murder on the pocket.
  14. Nothing wrong with a friction device like that, save yourself a few quid over a bollard. People were (and still are) using natural crotches and a wrap round the trunk.
  15. That's right 30hp 1.2 tonnes, if it had a 44hp motor maybe, not worth the money imo.
  16. Try always leaving Friday free and using it for emergency/short notice work/work with no set date. Easier said than done I know.
  17. Ordered mine from Orange Plant. In stock, came in days easy fix.
  18. Well I don't use one, but I'm beginning to think I should. How much are they? And what sort of training do you need?
  19. Better off dragging it out of the back and chipping with a decent chipper. As an aside arbor eater whilst being overtaken by others is cracking value second hand.
  20. In answer to the thread title, imo no they don't.
  21. I see them on earborist, they certainly seem like they mean business, any one actually own one?
  22. I'm so jaded now that when a customer says "I don't like cutting down trees but..." I say "I do, I hate trees and would cut them down for nothing" Or when a client says when standing under some massive tree over power lines, roofs etc, "I'd do it myself but the wife won't let me/back is bad/blah blah blah" because they think that'll get the price down, like its mowing the lawn or something.
  23. No danger of translocation? (if that's the word) There was a thread recently where it was talked about in relation to poisoning individual poplars.
  24. If you're going to run a 7.5 tonne lorry you can carry a tracked chipper in the back. Seen it done. Works well. Plus if you have a decent plant trailer you can use that. I know I've preached against tracks but with that towing and power its a good option.
  25. I wonder if all these people moaning about paying VAT on chainsaw trouser etc have ever put cash in their pocket rather than the bank? I'm sure they haven't!
