  1. What’s Jacket Potato in French?
  2. But no one is suggesting that there should be a ticket requirement, the OP was just asking if there was one or any formal training needed. You can always teach yourself, books and the internet can be useful too, but I find working face to face with someone with years of experience tends to work best for me. The only thing that really needs to considered is HSE/PUWER regs if the OP is being paid (working), apart from that crack on.
  3. I don’t think there is any official training requirements, just HSE/PUWER regs to consider, PPE and kit fit for purposes etc. I am pretty sure Rob D would do a tutorial for a group and there is a guy in Instagram called Woodlouse Industries who is a top bandsaw/woodwork man who I would be contacting if I needed to move into this area.
  4. The prolonged wet weather down in the SE has had a massive impact on timber extraction for the biomass market, the loaded Baltic vessels are readily seen at Sandwich.
  5. What do you mean, there is simply nothing wrong with rototech chain!
  6. The FC stalkers around me have a small electric winch attached to the bulkhead in the back of their Ford Rangers and an aluminium ramp to slide the carcass up into the back. Only dealing with Roe/Fallow round here mind but it would easily pull in a Red.
  7. Then you really can have a mixed up chain.?
  8. Certainly lost on me, I have absolutely no idea where you got this quote from or what it’s hidden message is? Care to expand?
  9. I have absolutely no idea what this means, are you writing in some form of long lost tongue?
  10. Why doesn't every Arborist who is free on Tuesday go down to the meeting ‘French Style’ and make things clear to HSE that this thing stops now.
  11. They are the same components with a different coding so I can’t see why not, but if your going to start riveting chains back together why don’t you just buy a roll of the right chain? Also, Rob D at chainsawbars sells a huge variety of chain by the drive link, you shouldn’t have any problem matching your chain up rather than mixing it up, and if your adding new cutters to an existing chain they will have to be filed back to the same length of the others on the chain so that they are at the same height.
  12. I don’t know what saw/gauge/pitch chain you are using but Oregon used to make Husqvarna chains until this new generation of Husqvarna C85, SP33G etc. Off the top of my head a Husqvarna drive link code of H25 would be an Oregon 21bp & 21lp (.325), H42 would be Oregon 73lp (3/8),H64 would be Oregon 24 (.404).
  13. Maybe if we had more Police we may see some proactive Policing? We have had decades of cuts to front line Police numbers combined with a different approach to fighting crime through intelligence gathering and CCTV. The CCTV never seems to working on that day and a balaclava solves that issue anyway, intelligence is often wrong. Lets get back to real Police on the streets doing the legwork. If I got pulled in the small hours because I was driving a defender, it’s no big deal, just doing their job. As it isn’t filled with someone else’s stolen tools I have nothing to worry about.
  14. Looks like Pine.
  15. I worked with him years ago and more recently in front of his harvester. There is a good opportunity there for someone with the right work ethic.
  16. Elmsdown Forestry posted a few days ago looking for Kent/Sussex handcutters, have a browse.
  17. I thought NPTC certs where widely recognised in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, I certainly know guys over the years who have worked in all these countries. What’s the recognised certification to work in Forestry or Arb in France then?
  18. What credentials, experience and knowledge have these people got to back up their criticism of your work? I would personally just tel them to go F**k themselves, in French if course.
  19. Aspen and a Husqvarna 550xp mk2, best 50cc saw on the market, bar none.
  20. The TMA Fungi app is free, good and easy to use.
  21. You can always have a P.O. Box for a small monthly charge.
  22. I should be so lucky, I could fall in a barrel of tits and still come out sucking my thumb.
  23. I stay in my beach hut for weeks at a time throughout the year with the family. A French girl bought one along from me and dwelled in it for three years whilst studying for her nursing degree, as long as you are discreet and don’t cause a nuisance I can’t see the problem, and who is going to police it anyway?
  24. The school kids use it, piss head not always, but at least I can pick it up and bin it easily.
  25. The main problem is they keep kicking your peas off the plate.
