  1. I used to do it at £35 a hr for chipping + £1 a mile travelling there and back. Winter only. NO OLD stuff that had been in a pile for years either haha. Min 2hrs. Did well and picked up lots of other work as well.
  2. How are you getting on with little chipper please?
  3. I have a FS280 as well, so if it does not run properly on the 55 will give it a go on the other. just need to know where I get that nut from.
  4. Just bought the Portek Powerstrim 6 Universal Head for my stihl fc55 strimmer but it does not come with the nut to connect it to the shaft Can anyone tell me where I can get one please. cheers Paul
  5. Taken this willow down and need the stump removing. Can you give me a price please, stump is in North Birmingham access is through a garage but there is no back on the garage, so you can go straight though. Customer would like it doing next week if possible. See photos, any questions please ask.
  6. Put it on a roller trailer like I have done with my cs100

    eBay

I agree entirely as it is mega annoying when you are bidding and they remove it cuz they have taken a cash price so to avoid the 10% final ebay fees. It happens so often no wonder they now hit you for ending it early. I would do the same

    eBay

If there are bids on your item, yes you will get charged.
  10. REALLY thinking of getting one now, as i cant find a decent used machine at the mo and have a few jobs coming up soon. Any updates from you guys who have them. The teeth worry me as i think replacement cost is high. Any more thoughts please
  11. thin layer of snow and bloody freezing.
  12. Yes they did about 4 posts back. I find the employment part of this game so bloody hard
  13. How do you cope doing trees as a one man band. The work is so labour intensive.
  14. Just got home soaked - just had enough dragging stuff and wrecking the lawn. So going back next week to finish off. Booked pretty solid next week so will be a struggle to get it done Guess what the sun is shining now I have just got out the shower - shall i head back...........................???
  15. Always done VERY well with leaflets for this game. In fact when I first started it was all I did and was amazed by the results compared to my other businesses.
  16. Dropped quote off today. Went in at £650. Not holding my breath but pretty booked up for Jan so not that bothered. There is a bit more to do regarding clearing up a old fence and stuff so have thrown that in with the quote.
  17. Thanks for all the advice. I cant believe the price for that Ash you would do it for. Its much bigger than it looks on the photos + that stump to grind out is a biggie + slabs need lifting + fence panels out to get the roots out properly. A little 13hp grinder as well as that's all I have, so I reckon most of a day just for grinding and clearing up. As you say you cant go on a crap photo. Anyway i did not get it but its still there at the mo - so may send them a text and ask how far I was out price wise. I would love to know Taking my quote round on Sunday for the connie, will let you know what I go in at and IF I get it Thanks again Paul
  18. £1300 was the for the ash complete. £750 for a pollard type of cut to where the customer was happy with my result. £800 for the connie is what i was going to quote - but will rethink.
  19. I always do a written quote with plenty of bull I aim to be reassuringly expensive! Maybe i just want to much dosh from these jobs
  20. Wow thanks for the advice it is really appreciated. No wonder I am not getting these jobs I am way over the top with my prices. Here is one I did not get BIG Ash. Take out fencing lift slabs to grind out a bloody big stump, remove, take ALL away. Did not think I could do it in a day OLD and now SLOW and at least two trips to get rid of the chippings and wood. I quoted ?????..........................lets see what you would do on this one.
