  1. Hi guys I am really struggling getting any tree work of late. I am quoting quite a bit but just not getting them. I would say I miss about 70% of my quotes. So would love a bit of help with this one please if you don't mind. The photos are of a tree I am just about to quote. Its a complete take down and remove stump. Access is good through a gate and chipper will be very close as you can see. There is a shed behind so some rigging will be needed. Lot of stuff in garden so I cant just fell it in one go. Typical small suburban garden I suppose. Cant get a big stump grinder in as it is through a gate I would say the stump left will be a max 3 foot wide. Couple of questions is how long would it take you. I work with one other person who is just a labourer so i have to do all the chainsaw work myself for now, he just drags, holds ropes for rigging and pops stuff through the chipper. My old mucker has gone and left to live the life in Spain so this guy is new to tree work. What sort of price just roughly should I be going in at. I have a price in mind so will see what you guys say first before i tell you what I was going to quote:thumbup: Cheers
  2. Ladders on virtually every job - why make stuff harder than it is
  3. Just found this thread and going to give it a try tomorrow
  4. I am part chopping my CS100 on a road trailer for a bigger chipper if any one wants a wee chipper for there bigger one So does anyone fancy a trade - my cs100 has a full service history as it was a hire machine that did very little work so sat in the shed most of the time. I have only had it since July when my old dosko bit the dust. So if any one has a interest in going smaller please get in touch. I can cope with this machine but just think life would be easier with a bigger say 6 inch chipper. Don't want anything over 750Kg as i have to lug the thing into my garage of a night as i am totally crap at reversing with a trailer on.
  5. you will get 2k i recon on ebay if its not very old. Why have the blades been sharpened if its done so little hours they would of only needed turning if at all, considering the small amount of hours you say it has done.
  6. Throws it very well if you don't stuff to much into it in one go
  7. It is just a normal roller trailer. Get a good one as some look a bit flimsy. Dead easy to get on and off as well.

  18. PM sent
  19. Can you do it for me Hate mine - but it does the job, but looks crap
  20. I think I am going to do the same as you and see if I can pick up a used one for the time being.
  21. Well done - I cant find any prices for new or used when I did my searches. The rock machine seems quite good as well for £1500 new. Does not look like there are many alpha stump grinders being used which is a worry. The vids on u-tube are my only source.
  22. Thanks for the info, but cant see it being in my budget.
  23. I keep thinking I should get a SG and have had a look at a few used machines and so far I have thought - christ that looks crap. As I know nowt about them I thought I would go new. Max spend up to £1500. This one is in my budget - I do need to be able to get it into back gardens so this would suit. Anyone got one of these and if so are they any good. ALL help appreciated as always. Thx Paul
  24. Quoting a very high price on a job - phone rings to book in. Love it
