When a did the CS31 I remember everyones chain was blunt 😏. My hand sharpening isn't that good, but many were artrocious. Have a recollection that some guy actually said he just binned chains & used & new ones as they got blunt 😀

Bearings went on my 18V hedge cutter after 6 month or so but repalced them & its being fine since. The 18V topper had the red overheat light but cleaned under clutch and hasn't happened since. See that makita do 40v outdoor power - hedge trimmers etc & an 40V & 80V strimmers now so expect the40v - 80V chainsaws will come out soon.....

Some info Apparently its grown in NZ for forestry Farm Forestry timbers - Cypress WWW.NZFFA.ORG.NZ Sapwood non durable heartwoods durable... Posts last better in ground if packed with stones /hardcore rammed around rather than using concrete thats traps the water Also think seasoned wood lasts longer than if used green.

I reckon the locations of the injuries would still be similar if the data was from 2021 & uk Relevant to all chainsaw users regardless of PPE? Head neck : kickback zone injuries Leg feet ones = chain brake should be on when walking as some no dobt caused by trips, or very clumsy snedding awarkward stuff etc Left hand ones =More unsure about thoose ,wonder is mostly from using toppers? more detaill would be useful Are chain throw injuries a common thing?

Theese shapes whilst ID-ing may be is useful e.g think Greensleeves isn't right shape? Greensleeves looks abit oblate OP's apple looks more roundish conical verging on oblong? This yellow golden delicious looks more the right shape but skin looks too waxy imo (skin being waxy or not another ID method)

Think you are only half right as dependent on the chain speed, the chainsaw may still go though the mostly class 1 trousers & boots so still expect there are the leg a foot injuries indicated in that diagram even with correct PPE just less as its stopping or reducing severity of some of the injuries.

I remember something about a different system think it was this: STIHL Quickstop Plus STIHL Quickstop Plus is an additional braking feature found on select STIHL chainsaw models. This features allows the chain brake to be manually activated from the rear handle. Whenever the operator releases the rear handle, the chain brake engages. Chainsaws with Quickstop Plus are indicated by the letter “Q” in the model name. Nevered used a saw with it on. Must of being shite? EDIT: Other systems/ ideas are thoose low kickback chains that cut abit rubbish and bars with covered tips.

Correlation does not always imply causation 😏 Laurel often you get 4 metre plus wide hedge and an owner in blissful ignorance thats is gotten that wide as its happened gradually and the don't see the view of the the top as never trimmed the bugger. Then they probably complain if the sides are bare if you try & slim it down a more manageble width..

Kind of guessed that that but solar thermal tubes still alot more efficent near 70% . & PV makes near zero financial savings or very small benefit after 20yrs on the payback calcs since FIT cuts? Suppose it depends on future lecky prices
