  11. Pellencs probably best id guess but they are very expensive.
  12. Personally I don''t use any chemicals Spraying imo seems abit pointless, & short term fix as it just creates bare soil which weeds will re-seed back into if you don't solve the underlying problem of soil getting mixed in with the hardcore gravel etc. Gravel is sold as low maintenace but i reckon its the opposite. I think regular raking works pretty well for gravel but once to much soil gets mixed in not much you can do.. Wonder if its ever worth getting in a digger & some screening system- maybe a trommel rotary sieve to revive old gravel/hardcore thats got mixed with soil. Probably its not economical? Drives often get redone & the old hardcore is just dumped alongside or removed off site & fresh stuff put down... Also drainage needs to be sorted
  13. Alu decks but they still corrode? There is a italian company that makes mowers with stainnless steel decks or thoose honda composite ones supposedly last unless they crack?

  15. Yeah black or dark colours is not good for keeping cool best is all white like a mexican peasant outfit in a western Have a tshirt that was in the rdm stuff in middle of lidl thats 100% linnen to thats really breathable better than coolmax.
  16. I found battery life on the Makita DUR369AZ strimmer is only less than 15mins with string or blade which limts its usefulness alot. Its still very handy to access trees growing in brambles/balckthorn etc as works well with the mulch blade. Now i just keep to for mulching & don't bother using the string bump head have a petrol one suits that better Money was not object battery mower - looks like like mars rover A 1600w motor for 60cm cut is impressive if it works as well as claimed...
  17. .I know when yout down you don't feel like doing anything but exercise is suppose to help as much as any other thing. With a manual job you probably get plenty already but somehow its not the same as "leisure exercise" outside work.
  18. The pro mowers seem no more lightweight than petrol maybe even heavier like the cars coz the of the batteries. 19. The limitation is battery energy and power to weight battery life etc not brand (though ive not tried the 40v makita saw) ived used the stihl msa220
  20. Iv'e used the honda one works ok but abit sluggish & slow revving and heavy v 2 stroke.
  21. I have the two sided makita 18v trimmer best battery OPE tool I have used alot nicer to use than petrol. Cuts proabably about 15mm max id guess. Don't rate the makita 18v topper or 2x18v brushcutter as highly as the hedge trimmer as petrol versions work better in performance but the 18v topper is handier than petrol in stop start situations - has to be nursed when used as think is only a 600w motor so can't do that much. Was tempted with the blower but saw the battery life was terrible got a husky one, 4 stroke power to weight seems very inferior to 2 stroke....only benefit less emissions & slight saving on fuel? Like my makita corded chainsaw though its a very old design i sure could be improved with a brushless motor etc.... One thing annyoning about battery is why not be upfront about the motors Kw rating the datas always hidden away if even available? As Kw rating gives a good indication of the machines preformance or lack of it...

People I know of who have them seem to do very well from them. Most seem to employ people do any cleaning garden & property maintenance etc not do it themselves.
  24. Im 95% sure its not slugs. Ok they can eat small plant stems sometimes but thats a big one "felled" and the pile of chewed leaves never seem them do that . My guess is rats or voles. EDIT Maybe a massive snail if going for for a mollusc culprit? Could go out at night to check...to try catch then in the act.....
