  6. Council house building leading to gas chambers is abit of a leap. Also socialism definition means different things to different people -the nordic model etc as an example but it often seems to taken as no different from communism.
  7. Id say often un-needed. In most cases I see them used it doesn't make sense to me. I think for example money would be better spent on a strip bio mulch mat rather than the ubiqitious spiral plastic guards used on staggered double rows of native hedging? Yeah trees can do fine in brambles scrub etc which often can protect from animal damage but probably the trees dojust grow alot slower with the light competition. So it depends on if there are deer about etc what is best. Shade tolerant tree saplings supressed under canopy shade can stay tiny for ages until given a chance so its species dependent also. Also might be a different approach id say for protecting trees that need good form for timber and some amenity trees where doesn't matter so much. 8. Last local community new woodland planting effort was using some eco tall cardboard ones on 1000's of short cell grown trees id be surprised if alot of the trees didn't die as virtually no light transmission Shame 😏 Any feeback on the eco options the nexgen ones or others? 13. About 3-4 months under cover (as left in pile outside is no good) at most id say. Thats the hedge laying season anyway. Any longer will probably dry out to much
  14. Why not a system of low impact mobile/ prefabs/trailer park homes using "eco" materials where possible mass produced for ecomony modular by design A modern well insulated prefabs probably nicer than alot of uk housing stock.
  15. Mulching mowers are ok if you like cutting lawns like a golf couse several times week Sounds like you need a rough cut mower or side discharge
  16. Don't stand closer than 5m? Proabably says something like that in in the manual? https://www.highwayssafetyhub.com/uploads/5/1/2/9/51294565/hei37-highays_england_alerts_-struck_by__object__during_remote_cutting_operations.pdf Stuff can get thrown along way
  17. Looks like a blunt axe then a chainsaws with the chain completely blunt also bit odd?
  18. Yes it probably will survive for yrs esp being a willow. If left to is own in the longer term maybe decades etc the wound/defect could cause the top blow/break off and then maybe it will then either sprout from the base or root as phoenix tree if top is still attached. Pollarding below the wound is an option or just leave it be & see what happens.
  19. Woodlots looks like its has gone virtually inactive compared to what it used to be. A cordwood/roadside standing timber directory would be handy - something like the tip site one maybe?
  20. Corvid and ukraine while factors are being used as scapegoats , the majority of the issues are elsehwhere and reflect longer term trends imo. Of couse other peoples views may differ. 23. Alot of stuff doesn't post to UK unfortunately think most silkies didn't. This silky pole saw does works out cheaper than UK i think even with £40 quid postage..... https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/Silky-273-30-Forester-Tier-12-8/dp/B00AXXA1U8/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1AF1CGRR91O1P&keywords=silky+saws&qid=1700851000&sprefix=silky+saw%2Caps%2C272&sr=8-5 But its a market place seller so postages wouldn't combine with amazon direct orders. I was tempted with a whale/fish hook/sappie 😏 https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/19112/dp/B005ZN9P76/ref=pd_sbs_sccl_2_4/357-4024861-1716624?pd_rd_w=m9ybD&content-id=amzn1.sym.c54a93f0-9f09-4c91-acbc-0909deaabe5b&pf_rd_p=c54a93f0-9f09-4c91-acbc-0909deaabe5b&pf_rd_r=AZ2W8KMQBN01J3N770R0&pd_rd_wg=r4Wk0&pd_rd_r=1e9246c1-6717-46f8-a139-a3956151f502&pd_rd_i=B005ZN9P76&psc=1
  24. Well i ordered a whole load stuff some okatsune sceatuers and some rdm other garden tool bits and bobs from amazon jp and it came without any issues or hidden import tarrif, was fairly steep postage but still cheaper than uk. Quality of theese hedge shears for example compared to any UK brand stuff or fiskars plastic fantastic is in a completely different league. https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B003I85W7C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And even theese cheapo ones are very good: Goes through 1/2 inch hornbeam hedge branches easy. A clever curved "strong type" blade design no one sells in UK. https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B08MZLXC4L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
