  1. I have a Husky 135 for the same task and it does all I need it to.
  2. Years ago I called a qualified bloke out of the paper to come round to look at taking down a 20-25ft Eucalyptus. He turned up and told me it was a 60ft Oak. I don't recall calling him an Arborist or a Tree Surgeon....
  3. I like my stove going as much as the next bloke but at current prices £400 would fill my oil tank with change and heat the house/provide hot water (no showers) for a year. Not a cat in hell's chance I'd pay £400 for that.
  4. Still maintain £400 is having a laugh
  5. She uses the phrase "inner activist" and that alone would have me running to the hills....
  6. Understand that but the OP definitely says he'll end up with less volume making it more expensive, which by my logic doesn't add up
  7. That's what I was thinking. Appreciate you'll get fewer (same sized) cuts out of a 2.5m length but surely at the end you'll have an equivalent number of 2.5m lengths left over that will make up the bits you'd have had on the ends of 3m lengths (if you see what I mean) Basically you'll have more 2.5m lengths than you would have had 3m lengths (given same diameter etc)???
  8. Very true and they're all having to make the most of it as I have a Great Spotted Woodpecker visiting and he clears them all off while he takes the lion's share of the fat balls.....
  9. Same here fat balls and sunflower hearts being hammered
  10. But in the grand scheme of his posts 2,000 or 2,000,000 is the least of the problems
  11. Thought you could still do them each year outside of 1st March to 31st August? I realise there are exceptions to this and you can also trim in August if planting rape???
  12. Not being funny and I'm surprised I'm even posting this as I like women as much as the next bloke but if it's all about promoting arb work will you be submitting the pictures of her up a tree in a skimpy top? Just asking?
  13. Just bought a Clearview Pioneer which is steel. I'm hoping it's going to be ok and last me a good few years
  14. Very true and I use them too as I have one local. I just know there aren't that many around though....
  15. Can't go too far wrong if you have a Wilko locally either, reasonable pricing and I've yet to have anything I've bought left by the birds...
  16. Just as an aside if your customer buys enough up front to last them the winter where do you advise they store it so as to not affect the benefit of it being kiln dried?
  17. Fair enough but that's a different approach with regards to your first post
  18. There will probably be plenty if you're prepared to pay for the wood and delivery. If you want the wood for nowt you're limiting your options.
  19. I think it's misleading as even though it says 5" flue that's only the opening on the stove. I believe it would still need to have a 6" flue fitted if it's not DEFRA approved
  20. I accept the term is used for both but it's not entirely accurate as a closure plate is used when a liner is in place and for mostly cosmetic reasons. A register plate is used when there is no liner and must provide a complete seal between the room and chimney to prevent the ingress of gases to the room. Both as you say need to be constructed from appropriate materials
  21. I'm no expert and sorry for being pedantic but as it's important advice, shouldn't it be a closure plate (closure plate and register plates serve different purposes) and a CO detector?
