  1. Nice site!
  2. You may not have reported anyone but your initial post below suggested it wouldn't be long. Furthermore I think any aggression (with regards to my posts) has been initiated by you so maybe it's my turn. I am not in this game in any way, shape or form so your ridiculous comments regarding me being dodgy (irrespective of what I do) are laughable. As an aside this has escalated and gone off track purely and simply because I asked what evidence you had of illegal operations. Whether or not I condone such activities or whether or not you should report such things is frankly irrelevant as that wasn't my question.
  3. No I don't need it written down thanks. Clearly you do though as it is not illegal to only take cash, despite whatever you think that means it is not proof that they are fiddling. I really do give up now. Whether they are fiddling or not, whether they are impacting your business or not is irrelevant. You seem to think they are just because they deal in cash only and I'll say it again just for your benefit, you may well be right you just don't know for a fact so report away
  4. I know you don't NEED facts, I asked if you had any. How can you be certain (your word) if you don't have facts? You either know or you don't and if you don't know you're reporting someone on suspicion alone based on them doing something you're not happy about and may be perfectly legal. I'll leave it with you now.
  5. In all fairness you made the initial comment and I have no idea of the circumstances hence why I asked you. I've neither suggested you should or should not do anything merely asked for any facts you may have. No disrespect but it doesn't appear you have any and would be the main thing stopping me if I were in your position.
  6. I'll try again.... Appreciate you're getting some grief but you still haven't answered my question. You either know they're fiddling and would like to report it or you just have a feeling they are and would like to report it. One of those options could bring unnecessary grief on top of a perfectly law abiding citizen (who would have nothing to fear other than the hassle involved in an investigation) Which is it please?
  7. ok but again how do you KNOW they are not declaring it, that's all I'm asking? I don't want to be facetious and ask if you sit with them when they fill in their tax returns so just wondering how you know what they're doing behind closed doors.
  8. Ok understood, so what are they doing that's illegal, just curious now?
  9. But you didn't answer my question, do you KNOW they are evading tax or are you wanting to report them because they're cheaper than you and you think they MIGHT be dodgy?
  10. Not wanting to stoke the fire any more than it is already but how do you know they're not paying tax? I appreciate you may have a good idea and you may be right, but you don't know do you?
  11. Ah ok, I just had visions of using dry wood to dry wet wood and my head getting in a spin. I assumed it must be cost effective etc etc to do this although I hadn't considered it would heat your home too
  12. ok thanks, apologies!
  13. Not sure why you needed to quote me so assuming that was sarcasm for some reason..
  14. Just a question for my curiosity but how much timber do you dry at a time and roughly how long would you expect it to be in there? Also what do you use as fuel to run the kiln? I'm assuming wood but not sure....
  15. Ok thanks again. I had sort of made the assumption he was being paid to leave anything of x" behind for fuel but was chipping it regardless. If someone says "Can you leave xxx behind" then surely the answer is either "yes", or "yes but it's £x extra", or even "No, because.....". Surely it's not "yes" but then chip it when their back's turned because it's easier....
  16. ok understood thanks.
  17. Tell me why you'd do this please. I'm obviously missing something as struggling to understand why you'd do something that didn't want doing unless doing it is quicker than not doing it if that makes sense???
  18. Or if you can't make it that secure don't padlock the lid on otherwise it will get drilled. Leave the lid accessible and you may get away with just having to replace the oil.
  19. That's interesting as I found them cheaper than all the local suppliers when I last had oil (April ish).
  20. Yes, Boilerjuice do this (others may too I'm not sure). We have a DD with them as well.
  21. That's a good point, try getting an emergency delivery of oil or an emergency plumber, neither will be the "normal" price....
  22. Is it just a normal combi boiler? If so, in my experience (18 months only) it's no different to our gas boiler at the old house other than it runs on oil. Still needs the same maintenance that you'd do on a gas one (or not as the case may be). Price of oil is a consideration and the fact that you can now decide when to buy if you have a big enough tank to leave space for when it's cheap(er). We only have a 1000 litre tank so we fill up, use it then fill again. If it's near enough empty we have to buy regardless of the price. Given we're in rural location most heating engineers anywhere near us are oil certified. That may not be the case though if you're in an area predominantly covered by gas though.
  23. Hear what you're saying but are all your regulars virgins in as much as they never had logs from anyone else first? How do you know this bloke wouldn't have become your best customer once he'd sampled your product and service? Just seems odd to turn it down IF you did have the wood and the time to do it.
  24. Same sort of issue in our kitchen, I've never burned myself on the oven, not once. Yet she does it all the time. Can't work it out myself!
  25. All I do is sort wood for my own personal use but I use the X27 and taking into account I don't use an axe for a living it works brilliantly.
