  1. Def get some wheel weights on, helped mine a lot. RSL in Barnet were a lot less than the agt ones, and clear the valve guards. http://www.country.ee/ Link for crane specs
  2. Have you spoken to truck and marine? Gave me a quote for something smaller pretty quickly
  3. Thanks for posting, fig19 showing an increase in growth is interesting
  4. You could try Andy Collins on here, he may still have a jo beau, suspect he would come with it as operator.
  5. Should have one or two bits that've been down for about a year.
  6. Blimey prices have come down a lot then, sounds a great deal. I use OTISS and a sony xperia tablet, sold as waterproof but I use it in a case anyway. I wouldn't get carried away with gps performance figures, if you use aerials as base mapping you can correct easily. Remember the bulk of Trimble and others products are developed for the survey market, which has far higher requirements than we need to produce an accurate tree survey plan.
  7. Not as far as I know, but arcpad costs ~£500 a license I think, and plenty of android software will do the same thing for much less. Are you being provided with survey software written for arcpad, or just want to edit shp files in the field?
  8. Used arcpad on a juno a lot years ago, and worked well, but as already said don't expect great things from gps accuracy. Didn't have a problem with bad weather, survived many arb surveys and a fair bit of forestry work, which was often pretty soggy! Unless you're already tied in to esri products I'd look at android devices, will likely do all you need for a lot less.
  9. That's the ones Jon, I didn't know they did hand powered ones, the wedge looked like a handy felling aid, but they went for ££££
  10. Bad news, did they cut their way in or lever door off? Saw the MOD auctions were selling off portable silent hand pumped hydraulic cutters and levers the other day, wonder who bought them....
  11. Which one do you use Dan? I tried one that sounds like yours but the battery life was only a couple óf days.
  12. Done, and good to see another dealer near here
  13. Dr. Julian Saunders :: Dodgy Elbows Similar to the macleod advice, the negative dumbbell exercises fixed my elbows
  14. Same here yesterday, took the ends off some nice oak butts, happy easter eh! Hope they got nothing else Jon
  15. Thanks Neil, appreciate you posting them up, looks tidy.
  16. Defra, UK - Science Search This short report on which fungicides were successful via foliar treatment may interest you Paul if you've not seen it, hopefully there will be similar success with the stem injection trials.
  17. Lumberlover, may well be a target type canker caused by phytophthora either with or without the presence of chalara. Definitely contact FC plant health as David suggests, as depending on your location you may have only the second incidence in the country of this.
  18. Any of the Husky FX or FXT series clearing saws, paddle thumb throttle and shorter shaft. Have an 555fxt, is epic on bramble/scrub with a mulching/shredding blade
  19. What is the crown density like? Might be worth mentioning if it's less than 2 1/2 to 3 years worth of needles.
  20. That's awful, good reminder to be bloody careful where you charge anything overnight.
  21. I'm being harsh towards chinese ebay stuff, mine have been fine, but you hear of charging issues with chinese lithium gear. Saying that a client nearly had his stores go up in smoke overnight, when a charger from a branded torch failed and set fire to the carpet, since then I don't charge anything on a flammable surface wherever it's come from.
  22. I have a couple of chinese ebay specials that have been better than expected, but no guarantee they won't go up in smoke tomorrow. Watch where you charge them, but they have been good enough to forward by/work at night with, and are miles cheaper than petzl etc, which seem not to last long anyway. CREE XM-L XML T6 LED 2500 Lm from delhanway2009 on ebay, but lots of others sell the same
  23. In case it is of use to others, after a bit of persuading Oliver's in Kings langley (by j20 M25) have got Apsen in, just 5l cans of aspen2 at the moment
  24. I use it a lot for both arb and forestry surveys, but have gis software to manipulate it prior to use on site. If you notice anomalies bluesky are good at re-processing for you.
