  1. Got the hang of 1:1 with it? and leaving ascender near stem for easy 2:1 return from downwards limb walks? I like the way you can ditch the footloop once in the canopy for 2:1, and aren't having to stick a pantin back on, or sort a neck loop.
  2. See if you can get a go on a petzl rig or isc d4 based RAD system. Can use as 1:1 or 2:1 without any re-rigging. Not as fast on the way up as many systems but quick enough, and much less effort if on 2:1. Very smooth work positioning and slack tending, also easy to mid line attach with no risk of dropping the rig.
  3. Visit number two at about 8am this morning, smashed a hole in a hedge to get in, but got nothing (as it's all elsewhere) annoylingly cctv kit turned up yesterday and still fitting it now. fingers crossed I get to meet the scum
  4. Do you recognise this man? He is wanted in connection with burglaries and vehicle thefts - Hemel Gazette Heads up for others in the area, keep an eye out for this scumbag.

  6. Shed just burgled in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, lost an echo 265 combi system and a stihl 430 backpack blower. Narrowly missed getting the lookout who was seen nosing around the driveway by a neighbour, but all i could see of him was, male, 5 9 ish dark hoodie, used a dark bmx to scarper. The other/s went through three neighbouring gardens, knocked down fences to get to my shed. This was at about 5pm today. Keep your eyes peeled folks.
  7. Yes I think the plate help stops the rad getting clogged, but maybe the belly plate wouldn't help much if you're getting dry clippings blown in from the side? Like CHC says easy to get stick/rad damage, even through the small gap at front of my plate (which I must fill in). Fan seems robust though, if a bit modified now!
  8. Might be an easy way to spike yourself/grate your spikes together? Have you tried a diy haas and just ditched the footloop, but attach croll etc to top of spike shank with a short loop? Still get a bit of separation then.
  9. Are you using the euro mini ino flail or the euro L?
  10. Have you got a belly plate on yours? Might help if not
  11. Will do, what alpine/which loader have you got out of interest?
  12. I'm selling a 2014 TP130 pto (516kg) which has 8.5in x 5in infeed if that's of interest, it chomps through most material well and the antistress system rarely kicks in on my 50 hp alpine (82kg flywheel), and if you're not chipping acres of difficult blackthorn etc its ok Agree with Tom that you will likely be pulling wheelies with an 8 inch machine, but if not too steep/wet and you can reverse up banks etc a bigger machine might be ok.
  13. Some solid looking products there, anyone else use them?
  14. The show sounds great, ace photos, wish I could've made it. Had a good surprise this evening though, just finishing work NE of Duxford and heard first, then saw a pair of spits doing a loop, stunning.
  15. If they are all small sites with short extraction distances, have you thought of a grapple skidder instead? If it's tight woodland and you're new to operating you might cause more damage shunting a forwarding trailer and tractor around than just skidding timber out, and if you have one with a rotator on you can always pick up small bundles and carry out. Also what Duffryn says is worth noting, a small crane winch or skidding grapple mounted winch will help you a lot.
  16. Arboricultural Consultants - Tree Survey / Tree Report - Yorkshire Based These guys know their stuff, give them a shout.
  17. Just four bits of 20mm plate I think, then bolted through existing holes in wheels. Yeah the puncture gunk has worked well so far, famous last words!
  18. Yup, the welder painted them red, can just see them. Riko also supplied with puncture sealant so have that floating about in there.
  19. This is mine with front weights that RSL made up for me, about right with the grapple on, sometimes could do with a bit more carrying the chipper, but not often. [/img]

  21. You can export as dxf from the BS5837 setup if that's what you mean? Also options for arborcad I think. Give them a shout, always been helpful with queries.
  22. Some nice bikes coming out:001_smile: Quick pointer towards shimano M424 pedals, much easier to get your foot back into after a dab, and enough platform for it not to be game over if you land not clipped in. Also cheap, and light for the money, I thought they'd die pretty quick but not the case so far.
