    When I was insurance assessor sold rolls royce as write off Scrap man ordered parts from rolls royce Asked for chassis number was told " sorry sir that cars been written off and we can't supply parts " French do similar with forged works of art ( and high end fashion items) if found to be faked they are destroyed - lots of girls lose their " fake louis vitton handbags" at customs

    I have an oxdale splitter which I do 20 odd cube a year on It does the job, but in my view needs some modifications The base plate is too small and needs making bigger The splitting wedge gets stuck in some of the knarly logs I have A substantial bracket on the pillar would let you push them off using the hydraulics intead of a lump hammer The wedge could be a better shape too - sometimes stuff gets stuck behind the wedge UPSUM does the job but could be better ...... I'd really like a " chunker " but cannot really justify the cost .......they look perfect for firing a woodburner running central heating ......bag up the chunks and throw whole bag on at a time .....simples

    I worry about politicians wanting to fight full time wars with part time soldiers ( territorials ) Thy shouldn't be trying to do this on the cheap, if a jobs worth doing properly.....

    Oh pennington flash when I was a kid an area of subsidence a mile long that had flooded, you could still see roof of house that had been flooded when land sank.... Pit rucks, ground that burned, local council waste tip, maggot farm , rats as big as cats , dead dogs floating in the cut..... that was my playground as a kid Wonder why I moved to rural wales asap?

    I was going out with a nurse when goldburn colliery caught fire in 1970's She was on a&e when they brought them in She said their fingers were like sausages that had been overcooked and burst their skins That Image has always stayed with me ........ Also if your hurt down the pit it can take hours ( days even) to get you out

    But isn't owning a coal mine like owning a forest If you own a colliery the coal is still down there It's worthless until it's extracted .......but so is a tree in the forest But that doesn't mean the colliery is worthless

    I had constant problems with paypal and credit cards - there is now a class of people who complain to the payment companies about EVERYTHING they buy Barclaycard just refund them and tell you to "sort it out" Not funny when its £500+ and they refund the customer and just stick a letter in the post to you....sometimes first thing you hear is the letter from barclaycard, paypal not much better We really need a customer rating scheme so you can avoid selling to these scamsters
