  1. Hi, I am looking for a beam to go above my fire place needs to be four foot long and at least 4 x6 inches but no t too big as it is going to be a floating beam. May also be interested in some wide inch planks for shelves in the alcove next to the fire Thanks will
  2. Sometimes my boss tells us to drag out a job, but mostly tells us to get it done quickly as possible, all depends on the client/profit I guess
  3. Use a tarp? Could the customer give you a deposit for it?
  4. Does anyone know where I can get a bracket like this?
  5. Not magic, just careful
  6. Use acid to dissolve the aluminium deposit on the cylinder. Look at spuds what's on your bench thread for instructions on how to do it. Must be a vid on YouTube shows you as well
  7. Lit the stove tonight and kept it shut down not burning too hot and no paint smell, thanks all
  8. Chain looks a bit loose apart from that it's fine
  9. This is the paint I used
  10. Couple people said I should have stood it out into the room to get more heat but it is plenty warm enough! May get an eco fan in the winter tho
  11. Hi Jon if I got time I keep them talking, it was tipping down one day me and leeroy was sat in the lorry and one rings me up. Keep talking, ask stupid questions, give stupid answers. Me mate was creased up!
  12. Have you searched online where your nearest echo dealer is? You maybe surprised, I was
  13. Sorry forgot to add the picture
  14. I've now fitted my woodburner and it all seems fine except it smells burning paint, chemically like when stripping paint with heat or burning old timber with paint on. Now, I asked in wickes about paint but they didn't know their ass from their elbow so I painted inside the fireplace with first exterior masonry paint to seal the rough brick work then emulsion. Both water based. Now it stinks the whole house out when I light it. I think I need to repaint it but which paint? Do I need to strip off all the old paint first? Or should I line it with something? Thanks will
  15. Thanks for all the replies I'm going to buy and fit them myself thanks guys
  16. My skids fabia has gone in the garage for its 60000 mile service and they have just rung me to say front pads are85% worn and the discs have a lip on them they want to change the discs as well. Are they trying it on? They want £200 pounds to do it as well Thanks will
  17. liquidambar in my garden
  18. Yep I saw it last week thought it was as good as it was first time around
  19. Kettle on the top?
  20. I don't sell logs but used to cut logs for my my grandad and my dads rayburns, used to have to cut them at less than 8 inches so they would fit in sideways. Now I have my own fire and it burns better with smaller logs. Plus shorter rings split easier!
  21. So something like that can work, provides the trees are suitable and I can find a carpenter to do it
  22. What does everyone think of this? A lady on a Facebook page that my missus is on would like one made, but I am no carpenter! Also there must be rules and regs that apply to installing something like this. And what happens when the wind is blowing the bolts surely pull out. Are there any play equipment installers or treehouse builders on here? I would be happy to pass on your details Thanks will
  23. Reason for painting a saw. It looks good. Just like a husky......
  24. Good point. Pretty sure your not allowed to build a whole tipper body but not sure if this applies to greedy boards or extended sides?
  25. More likely to happen with a tipper than a non tipper as you shovel out fresh chip every load with a non tipper but only shovel out the corners of tippers once in a while, stinking orrible job
