  1. It looks to me to be a chinese saw produced for a supermarket, possibly Homebase or similar
  2. No, to get a plate off the vehicle must have a current MOT and a tractor wouldnt have that. Otherwise you would never see a tractor with an original plate, they all be sold onto cars
  3. Try sharpening with a Stihl 2 in 1 easy file, results seem to be very good
  4. I am not saying instead I am saying as well, very useful if kit found with serial numbers ground off or seen advertised on internet
  5. As you do with a used saw from a reliable source. I bet you the chinese produced saws devalue the quickest
  6. If every chainsaw user in the country spent a few mins per saw to photo each saw including the serial number and stored it on his phone, icloud , hard drive etc, if he did get broken into then he has a head start. You would photo your car , dog etc so why not your saws?
  7. New Chinese saw, blue or red or a used Stihl/Husqvarna you decide
  8. Got one in for repair at moment, they look very similar to Mitox albeit a different colour
  9. We had a pallet of this last week, its good stuff and certainly looks the part, seems to sell very well
  10. His wife came to us next day for a replacement saw. I almost feel embarressed when you sell saws under these circumstances. You have to feel gutted for them as they are great people trying to earn a living who are being preyed on as easy targets by scumbags who feel the world owes them a living. Its the people like Chris who have paid their tax returns this weekend to keep the country rolling but they will have less tax to pay next year due to the loss so the whole economy suffers. Stihl will now add the serial number of any product known to be stolen to a database so if you do lose a modern Stihl product then email them with the details but you must have the serial number
  11. You will need the older one, they are both same price
  12. £66 plus vat rrp in UK for coil, there are 2 options, change in 2013. Coil only fits MS391, or MS311, doubt very much the MS361 part will fit
  13. Business was obviously that brisk that he needed a Portacabin office to supplement his caravan
  14. One thing that has always amazed me is that you can pass an MOT with an inaccurate or non working speedo. Unless your speedo is within 10% accurate then you are at the mercy of any speed camera Perhaps a fairer way would be the ability to only issue a 6 month certificate on an older vehicle that has been clearly patched up for test or even one that has had a bad failure history
  15. Just spoke to a friend who has been to first 2 auctions, it seems year old machines are making 90% of new price in some cases
  16. I would tell your household insurer and see what there reaction is. If it borders your house and is a not for profit woodland , it may already be covered, otherwise try NFU
  17. For this year ,actually introduced June last year FS410 and FS360 are now M tronic
  18. I would have thought if anyone runs a few Stihl saws then having 5 of these clips in your tools box is a must at that price. Non genuine ones just are not any good
  19. We are Stihl dealers and would have no problem supplying anyone with spare parts, although we cannot mail order them. Part no is 9460 624 0801 and are 15p plus vat. Clip fits 350 ish applications in many models so local dealer should be able to supply
  20. Best idea is look at what the big fleets are using, almost all are Stihl FS460's. We sell and maintain a lot of them There is little problem with the M tronic and this usually occurs when the guard is removed and excess cord used. The clutch housing can split, but this is the result of banging the head too hard on the ground due to a worn or sticking bump feed. Parts reasonable and easy to get, and a good resale value at end of day
  21. Ernst and Young will have signed a contract with Euro auctions, There is no way legally they could sell you 1 machine. Even if they hadn't with the prospect of thousands of machines to sell, unless you wanted to buy hundreds, they will not even consider such a request
  22. I would suspect it will make all its money, often close to new price. New kit is going up due to currency and there is often a waiting list. This is genuine kit being sold for a genuine reason . You need to price up what you want carefully from a dealer where you have a comeback and allow for auction buyers premium if there is any. I think most of it will go abroad
  23. The best thing about a Stihl one is parts are easy to get and hence its easy to repair. Some other brands you don't stand a chance
