  1. Oh and I see the new ones have a smart stainless exhaust cover !!! is that a retro fit Dean?? ive got to ask before Grey Git does !,
  2. Eucalyptus is a hardwood most customers wouldn’t know the difference,I’m burning Cedar at the moment beautiful clean burning and fantastic smell. i tend to sell a mixed load for wood burners no complaints. im selling around 350-400 tons a year all generated from Arb operations.
  3. They are certainly built ours was a EW model so is very stable and like all bandits built like a battleship.
  4. Self Employed groundie required for immediate start ideally with chainsaw certification and driving license for modern well equipped company based near Attleborough Norfolk. Days to suit, ideally at least 3, per week but interested in more or less. varied work mainly domestic. pay according to experience but in the region of £120 a day. please pm me or call 07500888310. thanks Phil Anderson Broadland Tree Services
  5. We’ve got one it’s for sale at the moment ,this has always been our back up bandit and gets very little use at the moment due to our new 915.hence it’s for sale. weve owned it from new so very low hours ,as said built like at tank no plastic on it,yes heavy but very useable, easy to change double sided blades, just like the bigger ones, alloy mudguards,a true 6 inch chipper ,will chip all day. single roller feed but pulls in material very well and produces a fine chip when blades are sharp. Deutz engine ,easy to maintain solid machine.
  6. Totally agree ,I had thought about highlights but was waiting for Dean to supply a spray can of Alert Orange.
  7. Up to your neck !!! brilliant little machine though I’ll just have to use an orange plant key ring to add that token bit of orange. its all your fault you sold me an orange 915.
  8. Hum yes Dean all of us who wanted Orange ? And we’re told no chance need a respay urgently please.
  9. I came away from arborisk this year ( after 4 years ). Prices rocketed by 40% despite no claims or changes in our situation. They removed old for new and put in lots of new get out clauses for themself. Also used to be a free installment option but that went too. Their main insurer (aviva) is to blame apparently but never the less no longer competitive for us. Who are you using now? Same with us big increase fore no apparent reason .
  10. I used same set up in the states as this the reason it's gone over is not it's little legs those trucks are not light at all and they definitely don't need to be full of chip to use at full reach I can honestly say they feel allot more stable that the tracked platforms and small truck mounts u get hear ? What’s the reason it went over then you didn’t say? ive seen several of these type of bucket boom trucks go over always on side loading usually on soft ground ,this type of jacking system is not sufficient and increases the loading on a single jack .i agree about some tracked and some small truck mounts but the better quality ones are very stable especially the German ones and have jacking systems and features found in 70m plus machines.
  11. You’re correct the geometry is totally different to a modern European truck mount,as you say they are using the mass of the truck often only on a single short under truck outrigger. This does not lift the whole truck clear of the ground and is effectively just a prop which on soft ground with side extension is trouble. In the first Facebook photo the chap on the Landy truck mount needs to get the IPAF sticker off quick as he obviously didn’t learn a thing on the MEWP course. Its usage like that that gives MEWPs a bad name just like poor climbers who smash things really.
  12. I take it we will get to hear and read the action taken in the Arb journal Paul? i think they were very lucky not to have killed anybody and it should be viewed as such. lots wrong in that scenario, including leaving the new bandit chipper in the way a big no no! But I think it may have stood up to the Poplar falling on it better than the parked cars, bandits built like battleships!
  13. Required for immediate start self employed treeworkers with driving license ,chainsaw and chipper certs for a modern well equipped (large banditchipper and Mewp),tree company based south of Norwich. Good rates of pay according to experience and qualifications.New starters considered.Existing stubbies with spare days. Ongoing ,regular, varied and interesting mainly domestic/ commercial work. Please contact Phil Anderson Broadland Tree Services 07500888310 Thanks.
  14. I my experience unfortunately I was done 2 years ago cost of 10k they just pulled both doors off in the middle of the afternoon! ive put back up and over garage doors locked at top and bottom internally as I was advised that a roller door was no more secure than any other. i was also advised to have several layers of security to as others have said slow them up as time on site is their enemy and your deterrent. i have a blaster very good has worked as they did come back ,village loved it just like WW2 again, try things like internal cages in the garage for your saws ,secure driveway gates best investment for me ,cctv, and door sensor and alarm on the garage doors .I think I’ve got the lot but probably haven’t.
  15. I quite like looking at a nice 7.5 tonner with a bright orange bandit chipper on the back much better than a caravan I think . it depends how rural you are and how close your neighbours are.
  16. Yes you can James and we have for many years had a restricted o licence. I live up a private lane the only stipulation is that you exit and enter in forward gear.
  17. We used to be insured with Aviva on the mewp it was classed as a special type.£2500 with NFU it is classed as a vehicle with plant attached but again it is part of a 4 vehicle bundle if you know what I mean. NFU branches often have to refer up to the underwriter for clarification /acceptance. Our 27m is on a 3.5 ton chassis with a £95k replacement cost for £750 a year but that’s with 6 years NFU mutual bonus + full no claims. i hope it helps
  18. £165 is that for a truck mount ? we have our 27m truck mount with them and it’s £750 a year ,this is part of our fleet policy with NFU.
  19. NFU .not the cheapest I suppose but good cover for our 7.5 tonner.
  20. Looks like you’ve got a fair bit of dieback\deadwood in the upper crown especially on tree in first photo so prune back to good sound growth points. Again a good set of eyes on the ground shape wise .
  21. Totally agree with this it only costs £150-£180 and will cover him properly for all he should need. why wouldn't you ?
  22. Oops sorry I know there's quite a bit more weight in the 1390 bigger drum I think,we thought about one but settled for the 915 with the 142 cat engine and that's bang on 3.5 .whats on you 1390 power wise?
