  2. If your looking at Makita gear, your on the right road, Iam changing all of my sthil stuff cuss its made in china and iam having constant problems with the carbs, so get your self on to EBAY.DE its the german site, there are companies that sell the Makita gear, but the best part is its 60% cheaper than rip off UK and they will post it to you for abour £15. and the vibration speck is better than stihl or husky they use a double dampening and its one one or two awards for this teck, good luck type in Makita Kettensäge this is german for chainsaw Makita EA4300F38C 340 euro,,,, good luck
  3. why bother putting a tracker on it? well it will be in a container PDQ so the tracker cant be switched on, most of this stuff goes abroard, so when it comes out of the container in XXX country, it wont registar! if you do put one on I would not tell them as its another excuse to get out of paying, esspecialy if there is a "Y" in the week
  4. good luck with the apprentice, ive just interviewed 10 candidates but only one was half decent, the others didnt want to work/get dirty and all wanted big money, thought that life ows them a big favour, like fork does it! the lad i took on is more intrested in his grunge rock band and his bloody phone, which hes had a writen warning over its exsesive use allready, so good luck!

  12. In the great words of Hommer Simpson.....DOOHHH!
  13. the previous permition only lasts for two years from the last consent from the council, if you cant see the letter from the council, walk away, its cheaper to loose the job than it is for the fine, just because they say (the tree owner) go ahead its ok, we give you the permission Iam afraid you are still liable for any criminal prossicution that might take place, because YOUR the pro and YOU should have known better. no excuse iam affraid walk away untill you see the consent form from the council.yes we all want the pennies but you could end up in hot water.
  14. it could be classed as criminal damage, was the police called? or he might say it was an accident, difficult to say whos responsible, tell your cliant to ASK if might contribute to the removal cost as a jesture of good will, but if was you i would not get to involved let them fight it out, as for the tree surving, well time will tell. or surgest to your cliant to get a tree survay undertaken next year.

  20. I have a simular problem with my gravely chipper but in my case the actual teeth on the roller have worn very low, but to have a new one refabricated i was quoted over £700 as its a lot of time and labour to make one, and that if i remeber rightly was thorn enginering
  21. sorry I ment to add were in Derby

  23. Hi there are a couple of things to discus, the old dolmar that i have DS7900 I think is a cracking saw, its anti vibration is good and it cuts like any thing, as for reliability its been good, then Makita bought out Dolmar and they changed the colour, and the production run for some time, them makita have brought out a new range, In my oppinion its better than the other two leading brands, why? well it is cheaper, it also had an award winning double anti vibration system, the other two seem to tinker with modifications and only slightly improve or go backwards on devlopment, but Makita have took a leap forwards, thats why Iam selling all of my old gear to buy the new makita gear, resurch the new models, then go to ebay.d ie the german verssion and buy it from germany its about £100 cheaper for the mid range stuff
  24. judging by the paint finish it looks like its been brush painted, to do a proper job it should have been shot blasted and resprayed, the problem with quick brush paint is you dont know what rust or poor paint is under neath, so in a monthes time its all the paint is bubbling and it will look a mess, 1: how many hours has it done? 2: check out the paint job, 3: Never rush in to anything! you will/might repent latter 4:£5000 5500 would be about right price, (in my oppinion) and is there VAT on top of the £7000? = £8400 is the final price
