  1. Hi there are a couple of things to discus, the old dolmar that i have DS7900 I think is a cracking saw, its anti vibration is good and it cuts like any thing, as for reliability its been good, then Makita bought out Dolmar and they changed the colour, and the production run for some time, them makita have brought out a new range, In my oppinion its better than the other two leading brands, why? well it is cheaper, it also had an award winning double anti vibration system, the other two seem to tinker with modifications and only slightly improve or go backwards on devlopment, but Makita have took a leap forwards, thats why Iam selling all of my old gear to buy the new makita gear, resurch the new models, then go to ebay.d ie the german verssion and buy it from germany its about £100 cheaper for the mid range stuff
  2. judging by the paint finish it looks like its been brush painted, to do a proper job it should have been shot blasted and resprayed, the problem with quick brush paint is you dont know what rust or poor paint is under neath, so in a monthes time its all the paint is bubbling and it will look a mess, 1: how many hours has it done? 2: check out the paint job, 3: Never rush in to anything! you will/might repent latter 4:£5000 5500 would be about right price, (in my oppinion) and is there VAT on top of the £7000? = £8400 is the final price
  3. and then once it dried out then they turn the bowl to a accurate and polished finnish
  4. A lot of wood turner i know turn the stuff green but they only rough out the shape but leave the side walls quite thick, then your only seasoning the timber of that thickness rather waiting year to dry out, ive seen bowls they have done and they are finnished in six months or less. (but iam no expert)
  5. Hi we looked into doing this as a full time job, it seems that STEM INJECTION is the best way foward, it injects a strong weed killer directly into the stem, this way the poision travels all the way down to the roots, bare in mind they can be down 15 feet so cutting them of at ground level will only stimulate more growth and it will lie dormant posibly upto a year, then come back,
  6. thanks ive seen it, all i need one for is donner parts, cheers brian
  7. A friend of mine use to hire them out, and the agro he had was unreal, one of the tales he told me was some one had put an steel bar in the chipper which had totaled the blades, rotor shaft, and the anvil, the bill was thousends, be very carfull if your going to hire it out becasuse people dont know how to look after other people gear, and IF the make a mess of you chipper, are they going to pay to fix it? what are the hire agreements? unless you have them, you could be on a sticky wicket, if your going to hire it out GO WITH IT!!! and whatch them like a hawk!
  8. The other year we had loads of experts jumping up and down talking about ASH DIE BACK well what has happend since then? its all seemed to have gone quiat. is it still out there? are people still finding trees with this desease?
  9. Is this new or second hand trani your buying? Why on earth are you buying a transit? IF your buying new take a look at the Vauxhall Mavano 3.5 but ask for the rear wheel drive its called the HD as the other lighter wight is front wheel drive, its £10.000 cheaper than a trani and its just as good if not better, ive bought one and two of my other mates have just bought one, one had a trani and the other a merc sprinter, both cost a small fortune to keep them running!
  10. We used them for years but the c**k ups they made was unreal, last year they gave me a free add, but to be honnest with you weve only had 3 enquireis from the add, so next year our advertising budget will go on uping our web site and other forms of addvertising, save your money go down the pub with your staff and treat them to a pint after work, good investment

  14. we had a skip lorry pull the tellephone line out of an old dears house, wall the good old BT sent me a bill for £200 I tried to pass it onto the skip company but they werent intrested as it says road side delivery not down long drives on there tickets. if your in any dought 1: use your phone to take a picture of the tell line color code of the lines in a black box on the side of the house ...disconect take the line down and replace in the same order, they are normaly on scotch lock connectors so all you need is a set of pliers, NEVER admit liability!!!! they will rob you ! like the other post as above, its storm damage, broken falling limbs, good luck
  15. I can strongly recomend the ps7900 or bigger its the old sacks dolmar saws they sold them off cheap when Makita brought them out, if you want to buy new take a look at the new Makita range its as quick as the husky but cheaper and the vibration level is a lot lower than both of them as they use double damperning system, go onto makitas web site get the code number then go to ebay.de (german site) you will find them a couple of hundred £ cheaper than the UK the shipping is about 18 euros weve change fromthe main streem stuff as its not as good as the Makita and makita is cheaper

  20. you said relying on the incompetence of the NHS nurses. If I ask for the window to be opened a 'little bit' that means between 6 and 10 cm's, not 8 and 12! Jeez what do they teach these people in college? "! just remember mate these nurses are working around the clock and are pushed to the limit! yes the NHS is not perfect, but its free, if you was abroard your bill would almost be £50,000 + and still be rising, just have a bit of patiance! your not the only one that requires looking after. PS your spounding like a premier ship footy player with these sorts of tiny demands.
  21. the moral of the story is git rid of your old trani and buy something better
