  1. My sister sent me this, think it's Yorkshire somewhere, And I've accidentally deleted the shot of whole tree
  2. Do ground helmets not have a longer lifespan than climbing ones?
  3. It's the old Norfolk n Norwich hospital
  4. Because he can't help himself like that know it all twat character of Harry Enfields "you don't want to do it like that"
  5. Derry girls, young offenders, still game, they're all good, spose matelot would like a return of love thy neighbour etc. Old Harry Enfield seems dated now but porridge is still very funny all my kids enjoy it which imo shows its stood test of time
  6. Fnaar fnaar
  7. Near 30 chains? Really?! I average six or seven (not including the old playdough husky bars), chains last 3 to 5 weeks of mostly forestry based felling, but depends on species/ ground. (you using an angle grinder on the chains?)
  8. Bit negative, can't you see the benefit in speeding up bio diversity?
  9. Can you not install coils in bottom of large pond/small lake? I'm sure a fella I worked for was on about installing gshp coils in his pond when he re dug/ dredged it.
  10. Worth the gamble tho: ladder placement would be interesting on that bank and a nice ash barber chair t catapult you off the ladder!
  11. Does that include VAT?[emoji3] Seriously though what diameter are the 2 stems? Makes a lot of difference! And it's quite hard to tell, i'm guessing 10" each, which would make £450 expensive but if 2' then a lot more top then not so dear.
  12. Manic day yesterday, after a morning of more humdrum large oak limbs and Scots pines over roads we got to this good sized beech (36" dbh) that had obliterated a yew, 2 sickies and old wrought iron fence, not the phone line tho as that was taken out in the last blow n not back on yet,
  13. It's not you, the climates not playing by mans 'rules'! I dismantled a big ash the week before Xmas and sap was pouring out. We used to fell sycamore for a sawyer who would only have it done between 1 December n end of January, dunno what he'd do now[emoji3]
  14. I love axes, I have about 10, I much prefer wooden handled ones, Gransfors, Hultifors etc, but I've had the biggest of the husky ones for about 4 years and it's been great, I mostly use it in forestry operations, often for pounding hi lifts in, but it's good for doing big rounds and its been thrown around a lot n I've never had a prob from shock in the handle.
  15. Jet winch, very similar to tirfor, under 250£
  16. Still good timber, and I'd have thought most hauliers up to date with bio security measures
  17. Are you sure the worm gear isn't buggered?
  18. Yep big lever, think the difference between mk1 and mk2 becoming apparent. I like rounds for keeping the fire in over night.
  19. Timbernut has your Mk2 an easy adjuster for the static axe, and if so is it just as easy to remove and replace the static axe? I only have the 4 way splitter but it's just a case of removing pin n washer to slide the lever out and change blade, adjustment does stick a bit sometimes as its manual, think later ones at hydraulic?
  20. Yep I agree with all the above, I did away with the auto trip cos I kept bending it with big rings we cut by hand n chuck in. I really don't like chainsaw blades on processors: noisy n slow compared to circular saw. I'd only replace it with a new machine if I could have one almost identical but with folding/swinging out feed.
  21. Don't know the difference, but I have a mk2 combi mobile (about 5k in 1999) and it doesn't have belt infeed or swinging/folding out feed conveyer. Still goin strong after 18yrs. I do remember the next model on had buttons on the rocking bed
  22. They don't look much good for narrow access though
  23. Wondered if one of these would be good with a stump grinder attached! Husqvarna do a range of them
  24. I don't like em, but they're great for all the pros previously stated. But how about this for madness:
  25. Yep loads better!
