  1. I hadn't heard of them. My l200 has an ally tipper body but only half a body. I make up the rest with painted ply Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. I'm not knocking these light reductions but I wonder how they persuade a customer to pay for you to go up with secateurs and nip out the tips.. surely you may as well have left it[emoji848] certainly the most beneficial method for the tree though... Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  3. Erm yeah so far so good so if it carrys like it has then yeah it's reasonable. It's a heavy machine that's seen a lot if work but it was delivered immaculate! Bearings, pipes and filters all new and paintwork.. I would advise anyone to just go for an old 6" machine over a new 5" 25hp chipper Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. I had a greenmech arb 130 on demo and thought it was good, though ended up getting a schliesing mx200 from masons. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. Wouldn't risk your mog! Tyres will get shredded if you work in furrow.. surely the plough purchase will outweigh any profit for the job.. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. Farmers are in no way custodians of the the countryside, but like any other business it's for making maximum profit regardless of environmental cost... they're almost as bad as the tree surgeons
  7. I have all this if anyone is wanting good sized pieces. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. The picture I put up for sure is not a great reduction, the tree was quite close to the house, had a considerable cavitiy near the base. They didn't want to lose the tree so this was 'the compromise' and by no means an example of a good reduction. I thought that's what this thread was about[emoji28] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. Can only inform them of the consequences of the action taken I suppose. Any reduction that would be truly to a trees benefit would be undertaken with secateurs but that wouldn't be giving people much bang for their buck perhaps...? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. 4x4 arb trucks so useful. Clearly can't get as much in but off-road work can't be beat! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. Often tricky to do what is ideal and give the customer what they want.. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. Rather brutal sycamore reduction. Looked like a big green ball when it came out in leaf[emoji28] please tell me how terrible I am.. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. I have an 09 l200 which has half ally body then I put some boards in to take a little more bit like your hilux when full it sank right down. Did going from 5 to 7 springs make a big difference? as I am thinking about doing the same. I have a schleising mx200 that weighs 1150kg so when loaded with chip and chipper it really sinks at the back.....
  14. I've got a lad come to do some days with me with an eye to part time work. He's 3 days a week at college. He's a nice enough lad though extremely slow paced which is understandable considering he's new to it... which leaves me wondering what to pay the lad. Some have said £40 for a student but hows that an incentive to work? Thoughts.....

  16. True it's a heavy machine! 1150kg! Though such a solid machine. A 230tw would chip more aggressively and quicker but the argument over sub 750kg chippers is justified I feel. I would happily take a lesser perfoming chipper that was solid and reliable over a lighter machine..... another thing it being a 28hp engine it relys on the over sized parts to do the work. My 200mx is incredible on fuel where as i've gotten through 25ltrs easily using 150dhb in a day.
  17. Had mine for 4 months now, bought a refurb from masons painted up and all. So far it's been the best thing i've used! Having never had previous with them. I nearly got a gm 150 : /
  18. Where did you get those from? They look much more like it...
  19. Has anyone ever changed their springs on their 4x4's? My l200 really sinks when loaded and has my chipper on....
  20. Was converted at firs garage. Do wish I had a transit sized tipper though having the four wheel drive has given me access to a few tricky sites.... Agreed with the sign writing, really need a website made up....
  21. The truck needs uprated springs really otherwise i'd have made the back a bit bigger. However i'm never too far from a tip site and a friend has a transit should I need it in larger jobs...
  22. It's unreal the behaviour of some people.. As far as i'm aware you can't film people or take photos. Whenever people give me hard time over taking trees down i'm quick to tell them that i've planted more trees than they've had hot dinners!!!
