  1. Suitability is one thing but affordability is another. Money no object an avant would be the one but 5-7k for a decent bobcat looks the better value.. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  2. I'm leaning more towards the bobcat, budget being a major factor. An avant would be nice but I could buy a bobcat outright. Most important thing is moving stuff around the yard i.e. Bags of logs, rubbish on the fire shift cord. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  3. Does anyone use a skidsteer or kanga or toro dingo? It seems that one of these tools could take a lot of Manual handling away from the job and for the price a lot less than an untrained member of staff. Anyone made this jump? Gone the root of machinery over people? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  4. Who here uses a bobcat for tree work? Anyone use a toro dingo or something similar? Come at me with what's best i.e. Site accessibility maneuverability usability...
  5. [emoji38]beach? Chainsaw boots fill up with sand... Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  8. It's an mx200, a few models smaller than what you're looking for probably though just thought I'd add that I passed on quite a few other newer manufacturers before deciding on that machine... Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  10. I have a schliesing and it's best feature is pulling in brash, it's not rapid by any means but you put it in then walk away. Nothing more annoying than reversing the rollers trying feed it in a different way... Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  12. Horses for courses is correct! All these larger vehicles that would make me legal for carriage would be a mare to take into the center of town... perhaps taking my l200 tipper and 1150kg chipper around isn't lawful or sensible but the alternatives would only be super expensive and impractical[emoji848] Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  13. Ha I stand corrected! Are you the guy that does the saw porting? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  14. Not many readwoods in the gardens of Suffolk residents lol.... Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  15. This is it.. if you're running a transit and you're constantly overloading then what's the next step? A unimog? Couldn't be a more impractical vehicle out here Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  16. For sure, however affordability isn't really the issue. I could go and get a 3120xp it's just the average of takedowns rarely require enormous bars so a smaller saw would just be of more use perhaps.... Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  17. I just drive accordingly, being overladen doesn't guarantee car accidents though increase possibility Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  19. Does anyone else feel that these laws are more than a little stupid? If you're working any distance away from base it's a given you're going to ram the thing?! See how well it goes down on the job that you're taking the van away with chip at only a 3rd capacity... Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  20. Seems to be an incessant topic on arbtalk the weight issue. Anyone here been hauled over by vosa? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  21. Having worked at a firm with all the gear it just seemed like the 880-661s just sat in the lock up mostly and the 460s went out. When spending nearly a grand I want it to be versatile Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalkc
  22. Was thinking of purchasing a 576xp with a 24" bar, should be able tackle most take downs with this or should I just go for the 395xp. Just feel that the big saw comes rarely enough to warrant the purchase at this point...
  23. The issue is for me that a wealthy farmer/land owner can claim subsidies despite having 2000acres in hand so clearly not needing the help! We have 500acres of contract farming and we would be out of it if it were not for the subsidies... Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  24. They'll be worked down to 8-10 meters. Thanks for the replys Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
