  1. Have you tried calling them on the dog n bone? Cheers, steve
  2. Yeah, that's very true..... not really thought of it like that before. I guess the chain speed slows down quicker? I've not had the chance to use one yet but it sounds as though the motor slows the chain quicker when the throttle is released. But then again.... when we're talking about metres per second maybe that could make the difference between a serious wound or not on standard PPE kit? hmmm, cheers, steve
  3. Good point, but I was thinking of the safety aspects rather than what you can or cannot get away with according to legislation. ie, if a boot or trouser is designed to handle 21 m/sec would they fail at 22 m/sec, 23 m/s etc? cheers, steve
  4. One sold on eBay recently for £1350 .... description said: "The baffle place could do with replacing (if you want to) and one side heat brick which is split in half. There is nothing else wrong with this burner, it served us well and kept us warm in minus degrees weather and is a lovely big burner and cooker. I've had one guy send me a list of what needs replacing with a price and he hasn't even seen it??? Its a big old 5 yr old burner that will last forever no doubt." So is worth chucking on ebay if you are fed up with it. ....or I'm happy to give you £50 and a chocolate croissant. cheers, steve
  5. £50
  6. ....don't tend to hear of people pushing the PPE boundaries to go along with their faster chain speeds. hmmm
  7. Happy to rehome the esse for you if you want rid of it!
  8. hmmm, I imagine the Stihl sales person did their apprenticeship at Currys.
  9. Good call .....keep in mind it's a chainsaw.
  10. gulp! That doesn't sound cheap. I have noticed the track motors can get warm on a full load. I leave the engine ticking over/ circulating hydraulic fluid at either end of the journey so it has a good chance to cool down. Not sure if this makes any difference though? cheers, steve
  11. Thanks eddie, looks very posh. Would be good to see a video of it in action. cheers, Steve
  12. Hi Mathew, Yep I was getting close to buying your TB016! I've been looking at the RSL hydraulic thumb grab, looks good and could be a useful multipurpose tool for various jobs.... like scrub clearance, turning compost heaps, lifting stuff. I think you're right about getting a separate log-splitter.... I'm just trying to think of ways of reducing outgoing costs, at least initially. Maybe the Fiskars axe will do us for a while?! I fitted a 50mm towball to the dozer blade and have been using a 1500kg single axle trailer - It's amazing how much weight the TB016 will pull (so long as there's enough track-traction). So I'm toying with the idea of using some kind of log-arch trailer. But I haven't seen anyone doing this with a small digger yet. cheers, steve
  13. Thanks Stephen - I keep a regular check on your arb diggers page, in fact I've just plodded through all 112 pages for a refresh, that took a while!! cheers, steve
  14. Got a few questions.... 1) Would a hydraulic thumb grab be powerful enough to split logs?.... at 35 litres/ minute flow rate. 2) Has anyone fitted a hydraulic cable winch to their mini digger? Any suitable solutions out there? 3) What are the limits for towing/ forwarding big lumps of timber out of the woods? Thinking of doing the above using a Takeuchi TB016.... (1.7t digger). Any advice appreciated. cheers, steve
  15. woops, sorry you said this autumn.... that horse puffed that breath a while ago.
  16. ooooh! Okay!!.. was just joking, but could be fun.
  17. ....or maybe a competition to win the first pair?

  21. I'm no expert but I'd say mental health (or lack of) did it.
  22. I was expecting to see an elf pushing logs of chocolate (coated with hundreds & thousands sprinkles) being floated across a purple lawn in a marshmallow hover barrow. The clouds would be various zoo animal shapes.
  23. Be good to see at at normal life speed cheers, steve
  24. The video is playing so fast it's hard to see what's going on with that. cheers, steve
