  1. Isn't that what Mr Labradors do when the bitch is on heat? Hope this helps! cheers, Steve
  2. Worth looking at the Anssems trailers..... http://www.anssems.eu/PDF/Anssems_KSX_ENG.pdf Humbaur are also supposed to be very good. cheers, steve
  3. Thanks for all responses from the Arbtalk Massive! .... so sound like if we chip at 1" maximum (or a little less) we should be fine. That's great, cheers, steve
  4. There's a link to 'Arbtrader' at the top right of this page. cheers, steve
  5. I imagine the Brian James trailer would have a higher used re-sale value so the extra money spent can probably mostly be clawed back when you sell it on. Cheers, steve
  6. It might all get swallowed by a sink hole before the meteorite smashes the entire county to pieces. Sleep tight.
  7. okay, cheers
  8. Now hang on a minute, I was the one that mentioned storm damage!
  9. Do you know if you get regrowth from willow chips?
  10. I wouldn't be worried about the whole tree falling over, not likely... but do you have big overhanging branches over your house?.... potential storm damage. cheers, steve
  11. Rob at http://www.chainsawbars.co.uk
  12. I wouldn't say woodchip used as a mulch for paths is a waste at all.... especially when you consider the alternatives; ie paving, cement, tarmac, pressure treated boards and grass (that needs constant trimming with a petrol powered device). There are also the beneficial bugs and mycorrhizal fungi to plant benefits. Far worse is to burn the stuff. cheers, Steve
  13. We have a bunch of big oaks that went down too. Part of me wants to mill them into big sections for a rustic building.... but they do look amazing just lying down in the woods untouched, and give some great habitat. Some of our oaks have fallen over in the past (many years ago) and re grown a main stem from branches. They are also amazing. If I mill them they won't have the opportunity to grow again. Decisions, decisions! cheers, steve
  14. Weird! Are you sure it's a fungi inside and not a furry poo?
  15. oh Lordy! At that price I'd keep them in a locked cabinet next to the Moet!
  16. You just said it! (nothing).
  17. Haha! Lost count of how many people have said that. Does look great but it's not up to building regs standards on insulation. cheers, Steve
  18. Our barn is clad with waney edge larch. My favourite bits are where there's lichen on the bark. Ours was clad in winter when the boards were still green (very green). Best to have a good sized overlap I think. Stainless steel fixings are very expensive. We went with standard fixings.... yeah, they rust.... but who cares? they are cheaper and it's a rustic building. However, I would use stainless or other suitable coated fittings with oak. cheers, Steve
  19. I'm a fungi because I'm a fungi. Dya get it?... Fungi Fun gi (Fun guy) Next step is to change my name to Theresa Green ~ but that would involve a bit of tree surgery.
  20. How long have you had yours, do they seem to last? cheers, steve
  21. Quite a few recommendations for Skellerup wellies in a farmers forum.... these are £72. I didn't know inflation had gone up that much, I thought an expensive welly would cost in the region of £20 max! http://www.welly-king.co.uk/Skellerup-QUATRO-SAFETY-INSULATED-KNEE-Wellington-boots.html
  22. I've had the Dunlop Puroforts (steel toe cap version) and it looks like it's the same material (PU).... they are very comfortable and flexible but I think are only suitable for walking the dog and splashing about in muddy puddles. I took my wellies in for a re-glue at our local shoe repair shop and the owner said modern synthetic rubber isn't anywhere near as long lasting as wellies with a high rubber content. He also said that our natural resource for rubber has been declining, hence why they now tend to use synthetic materials/ or a mix of synthetic & rubber. I need a new pair of wellies/ work boots soon so this is a useful thread. cheers, steve
  23. Durable?..... I doubt it. cheers, steve
  24. I had some Dunlop Puroforts.... the rubber on the steel toe cap got spilt within a matter of weeks and then the side of one of them got slit open on a small blackthorn (or may have been Hawthorn). This modern synthetic welly boot rubber is flexible and comfortable.... unfortunately it doesn't last 5 minutes! That's my thoughts. cheers, steve
  25. Come on Engl.... oh, don't bother! I'm off to bed.
