  1. ref neighbor complaints, I have had the same issue and have had both environmental and planning offices round! After some discussion and me offering to work in times when said neighbor is out if they give me a time table etc no further action to be taken. they said just carry on carving as I am sticking to after 9am finishing before 5pm and not doing it all day every day. Good luck
  2. Some time in the past few weeks perfect working order Stihl MS200t was stolen from a social enterprise called 'Mow & Grow' in Bowthorpe Norfolk. Any info please call 0845 456 4567 or 101 and ask for Bowthorpe station.
  3. That's great What's the wood and finish?
  4. Got me all excited there expecting to see a 6' tall Wizard carved outa something exotic!
  5. I REALLY like that May have to have a go at something similar maself
  6. I would think shipping would be expensive. I cant weigh it at present as I have a trapped nerve in my neck so cant lift anything £200 for the carving.
  7. I see the ex wife has let herself go a bit!
  8. The 3rd one potentially has a buyer, the 1st one SWMBO says is hers so the 2nd could be sold I guess.
  9. That's really nice but.................. silly fox coulda gone for the waskilly wabbit down by his feet rather than looking up the tree
  10. Like em, must have taken some humping back from the beach!
  11. Hare No.3 just finished.
  12. So far I have thrown nothing away but I have only been doing it since Feb this year so still plenty of time to make firewood The pictures of the wolf as it is now are flattering. Lots more work needed but proportions are just all wrong so regardless of what I do it wont look like the picture in my mind
  13. That would be good I have left the project for now due to it looking crepe forelegs looking to straight and long being just 1 of many faults with it. I will take a picture of it tomorrow and post if I can bear the embarrassment of it being seen I'm thinking firewood!
  14. And at the end of the afternoon still unfinished.
  15. I carve with the 150 rear handle all standard set up 10" bar. Hardly ever use full chat in fact sometimes I with the clutch would cut in earlier so I could use lower revs just on the odd occasion. due to the thin kerf of the chain it's not bad for blocking out the odd little bit if I cant be bothered to fire up the 260.
  16. Not been on the saw at all until today, got a lil wolf work done.
  17. I am using it as I like the grain and colour but mostly because it's what I could get
  18. Not so fast young man I sat my moon gazing hare in 1/4" of linseed oil in a bucket and it has split no further.
  19. Not the driest wood! Lit the fire outside this morning at 6:50 for a cuppa using wolf offcuts and had the devil of a job to get it to light ending up using bear offcuts initially. The wolf wood hisses like a goodun so is well wet, I have had it sitting in a bucket with 1/2" of linseed oil in for 12 hours and it's taken most of it up already.
  20. Yer but people will pay over the odds when it's for a cause other than helping to continue someone's hobby.
  21. Ref oil, he has had 0.5L of linseed oil so far and all has soaked in rather than run off.
  22. This afternoons whittling my 1st wolf in progress. Perhaps a bad move showing it before it's begun as it may fail yet
  23. I have had a few people looking at the bear now and asking how much. I am a bit funny about £ right now so wouldn't commit but they are saying "how much is it 2 - 300 quid"? so it seems to be pricing itself
  24. Hmmmm sell or keep.............. I have letters here from the District Council Environmental protection team and also planning enforcement. My neighbour across the road has a hate campaign against me after he threatened to kill me whilst holding some sheers to my face and I laughed and told him to go away. So being seen to be selling may be an issue although I almost sold a moon gazing hare to the planning guy who said his wife would love one, thanked me for my time and for wasting it.
