1. St Johns ambulance in Stevenage have 10 sycamore that need felling and clearing up. Anyone interested in pricing? They are not looking for a freebie, proper price for proper job, location is SG1 2AD.
2. Someone has to comment on that...................... I still chuckle when I read it
3. I started out with and still use a Stihl MS150 with 10" standard bar and chain. Even though I have a MS200 now with Stihl carving chain and Sugi Hara carving bar I still use the MS150 a lot. £350 brand new great little set up. If you need a eye burning tool for drill or die grinder I can sort you out there
4. They are not bl00dy real Great thing about fictitious characters (inc LGA) you cant be wrong
5. Very nice indeed and if that's a 2nd attempt at cs carving you have a natural talent. ref cracking/rot, plenty of decking oil until no more will absorb thin the 1st coat if you like but if it wants to crack it will. Keep it from direct sunlight and winds and raised from the ground to reduce wicking of moisture.
6. Thanks for the £ Ray it will probably be with postie today Ross, nice grinder but twice the price. My 6mm shaft eye tools will work with a drill, slower but works fine. My die grinder being dead I tried it and it worked really well on a bear. Lots of pressure needed but it soon smoked up.
7. Hiya Ray Is that the cheque you sent weeks ago? As I wont be using a die grinder day in day out I was wondering (shoulda started a new thread) is the 400W Makita GD0600 would be any good? Makita GD0600 400W Die Grinder 240V | eBay
8. Hi Dervish, no idea if it will work I don't have a Dremel to try it on and even my die grinder has died big style I would like to sell a few 6mm die grinder size ones to pay for a new die grinder
9. I resealed mine with super glue. 1st sat the plate in place then put a drop of glue on a piece of wood, dipped a pin in it and wicked it in to the joint.
10. The chain damage was minimal, I rarely lean on my chain so it cut through the nail very slow and just took the edge off, I was able to fettle it up on site and use it again. I was quite pleased with the finished carving, the customer was so pleased she over paid as an extra thank you
11. Ukulian, PM sent
12.

Morning, the Dremel tool is still here if you want it but like I said I dont know if a Dremel will have enough power to spin it up and burn as a die grinder would. it's up to you but £7 inc post if you want to give it a try?

Regards

13. BTW the 15mm Dremmel tool I can be turn down to whatever dia you want an eye to be, it doesn't have to be 15mm
14. Thanks you gents, the screwdriver is just a pointer, a little JB weld will do then for that core plug and a C1 kit from Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stihl-192T-020T-MS-200-T-ZAMA-C1-Carburettor-Diaphragm-Kit-/201094209570?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2ed2262022
15. Having trouble with my MS200, it wouldn't rev unless I held a bit of choke in regardless of how the carb was set (originally 3/4 on top end and 1 turn on L). I had the carb apart the other week and blew it all out and after it ran sweet as but today I goes to it and it wont rev. I clean carb again same as before and no different. So I thinx possible air leak on manifold? so I strip it all down and check but it's fine. Clean carb once again but.............. A round ended rectangle of ali falls out and when i put it back it's just free floating, nothing to hold it there. I try starting it again and this time it's over fuelling so I guess that piece of ali should be in with a sealant or something? HELP!!!! I guess I have done something wrong in my ignorance! I have never come across anything like it as I have only really had Walbros apart from my large modelling days.
16. I have a 15mm one with 3mm shank for Dremel if you want to try it but TBH I doubt a Dremel will have enough grunt to turn and burn.
17. Council. I would not have carved into a healthy and complete tree. The carving is in memory and tribute to the ladies husband who sadly passed away some time ago. He loved both the trees and was quite a spiritual man. I hope I captured "spirit at peace".
18. Thanks gents for all your kind comments. Grey it had been left as a large stump due to it's sister tree alongside it having root issues and falling over.
19. I thought this Beach tree was going to be very hard to carve but being quite green it cut beautifully Except for the snotty nail I found grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr It's my 1st on site commission and the customer is overjoyed
20. Love that, well done
21. I like that, nice finish, colour
22. Be aware the MS150 has a 6mm thread on the crank nut, it's likely to undo............ mine did and it shears off the built in key so a new flywheel is needed not just a blurry woodruf key
23. I like it especially the head that's great
24. Glad you like the tools I will make up another 16mm soonest and post it off to ya. I have not made one for a dremel but can turn the shank to any size, what dia eye and shank are needed? will a dremel have enough guts to burn an eye in?
